This will be my 1st lower build on an Anderson Arms lower.
I plan on buying an Anderson 10.5" upper.
What tube/buffer combo do I need?
Also, what is there to stop the tube from turning on the threads without a locking/castle nut?

I'd recommend this so you can use a castle nut.

Or any of the other ones that use castle nuts.  I believe both Midwest Industries and Phase 5 both make pistol buffer tubes that use castle nuts, there are probably a couple other ones out too that I didn't mention.  Just make sure to know what OAL you want before purchasing though as it may affect your build.

KAK makes the tube you need. The first reply nailed it

How would it effect my build? Remember its my 1st time.
Until now I'm a armchair smith, regurgitating what I've read or seen.

The other companies you listed make the "same"product that does the same thing for the Sig Brace, only a different name.

What buffer? Just a standard weight because the upper will compensate for the short barrel with a larger port?

And finally, that buffer you linked can use the KAK LOP kit?

KAK make a great tube. I would go with there std. Buffer. And spring. You should be good to go.

This is my setup. If you purchase the "Complete Kit" from Phase 5 you will quite pleased with the reliability, look, and the length of pull. The tube is shortened as well and comes with a cap that fits in the end of the SigTac brace so you can store stuff in it and it also looks better from the back so you don't have that giant hole. If you are stuck on the Kak tube then go with that. I have been impressed with my build and I'm shooting an 8.5" AR upper. Very reliable and the phase 5 buffer weight/spring has been great. The castle nut keeps it nice and tight but it also has a nice cutout where the retention pin is to really keep things in good and not allow the buffer tube to move at all. Extremely sturdy and heavy duty without adding much weight to the end of the rifle. Here is a pic of mine

I just ordered one from damage industries for my first pistol.

For me the tube length was important incase i end up using the brace in a manner it wasn't intended by the manufacturer. I will post a thread monday detailing my parts. I should have everything except the brace by the end of next week.

**I saw that you mentioned what is a castle nut (I think). When you screw in a buffer tube a castle nut essentially puts pressure going the other way of the threading. It helps keep everything (the threads and buffer tube) vertical and unmoving. Some tubes, depending on what you get, have a inset where the buffer spring detent is and if it moves (unscrews) it can cause major issues. Your best bet is to either buy the Kak tube or phase 5 tube that comes with the castle nut (NOT the screws upto the lower - It'll say this in the description). Castle nut is practically standard on every ar-15 stock. It wasn't until recently when AR Pistols came into play that a couple companies made ones that screw up to the lower and that is all. Hope this helps if that is what you were asking about as well!

Op, I'm in the midst of the same build basically. I got a used Kak gen 2 peanut tube here on the EE for $22. Kak sells the std carbine buffer and spring for $20. (Kak calls this buffer out for my tube)
  Always check the EE first.
Good luck with your build.

I like the fit and finish of the Phase 5 setup.
Uses a castle nut and I can use a MagPul Asap sling mount.

With the KAK extended tube and a 10.5 you're build will be long enough to legally attach a VFG.

I got the Damage Ind pistol tube. I think it's going to be a little short Won't know for sure until I get the SB.

The brace does not count in OAL, repeat, to possibly keep you out of prison, it does not count.

OAL is measured from the end of the barrel (or perm attached muzzle device) to the end of the buffer tube. The SB15 will not change OAL.

I meant too short for me if the brace was used improperly.

I am not targeting the 26" or whatever, I don't intend to use a VFG. In that case I don't need to meet any specific length criteria do I?

Not in that case. You can use an AFG if you had to have something either way

I have a nut & plate on my KAK Gen 2.

The phase5 is nice but pricey.
