Both photos were taken with identical camera settings, in the 20 minutes between shots it got a lot darker. A 7.5" AR pistol, Tula ammo. The first photo taken with a standard A2 flash hider installed, second one was with nothing but a thread protector. The difference was clearly visible to me as it shot also.

All I use are A2's. I saw a graph somewhere on this website that compared different FH and comps. The A2 was perfectly middle ground for flash hiding, and as a comp. of course there were better ones, but they sacrificed in other areas. And they are dirt cheap.

Cool pics, but not really apples to apples since, as you note, it was quite a bit darker out in the second pic.

I was surprised as well, bought a kaw valley for my pistol build but after shooting the A2 I think I'll just leave it as is for a while.
