Right now it has a cheap Wally world red dot.

Probably just go with a Holosun or similar.

@fst96se

Measurement is 21 & 7/8" fully collapsed.

Hope that helps.

12" 6.5 Grendel

Faxon group buy barrel with 5REE rifling

Will be tipped with TBAC Ultra 5 7.6oz Titanium suppressor once it's out of jail.

With the new 130gr Nosler RDF, the numbers say it will be supersonic to over 1000yds using the G7 drag function.

I'll work up some loads for it since this rifling is shallower.

123gr should be interesting with 8208XBR and AR Comp I'm thinking, as well as H335.

I'm guessing we'll see speeds at least as fast as a 14.5", and maybe even a 16".

As it sits, it beast 16.3" AK by 50yds with 123gr, and 20" SKS by 75yds, then almost doubles their supersonic reach with a 123gr.

Got everything in for my latest pistol, 9mm 10.5" from Foxtrot Mike products, with their matching billet lower. Can't wait to get some rounds through it. Apparently I messed up on the order from DSG, and ordered the K2+ instead of the standard K2, I'm not a fan of the rubberized texture on the +, so I'll have to order a standard K2 to replace it with, but I live with it for now I guess.

Ended up going with the psa complete upper. Couldn’t pass it up for that price although I felt a little dirty buying a complete upper lol. I’ll see how it runs.

The castle nut is staked on the 7.5" Diplomat, so I need to get my local shop to remove the buffer tube so I can install a PDW brace on it.

300 blk 8.3 Ballistic Advantage Hanson barrel, Dead Air Sandman K, Ghost upper and rail already done in Tungsten. I had a Spikes Snowflake lower cerakoted locally to match.  I think it came out looking great. Really liking the GHW tailhook.  IMO if your actually using the brace as intended it works very well for that purpose compared to most of the other options out there. Magpul bits and a Vortex SPARC AR red dot to finish it off.  I'm very happy with this build considering I bought everything ala carte and put it all together.  No one else will have one like it. Didn't go in with a specific plan, it just sort of morphed into its current config as I acquired the different parts.

Another one that just sort of morphed into what it is over time. No plan here either. 5.56 10.5 PSA phosphate barrel, 2a Armament rail, same Sandman K again this time on a Spikes Honey Badger lower.  Again more Magpul bits, Vortex red dot etc......... to finish it off with an SB brace on the end.  If anyone is wondering that is the new Crossfire red dot from Vortex. Confirmed, the Tango down cover for a legit Aimpoint is almost a perfect fit.  Tight on a few spots but no cutting was required.  Asked Vortex if it fit and they were not sure, the rep ordered one and test fit it there at Vortex HQ and told me I was good to go.  That is how you treat your customers.  Love the way both of these pistols turned out and perform.  Tempted to possibly SBR one of them in the future.

You owe it to yourself to get a vise and magwell block. Not just for this task, but for future work too. Really don't have to spend big bucks on a vise either.

Of course then that leads you down the mancave accoutrements rabbit hole... of which I've been spiraling down since I was was in my teens.

Agreed.  Also a good torque wrench if you don't have one yet.  Because..........

Tools are a good investment.  MackDaddys right.  In the long haul you save money if you can do this type of task yourself vs taking it somewhere multiple times and spending whatever they charge for it.  If your sure this will be a one time tube swap then just wait to have your shop do it.

Those Raptor charging handles are great!!! My left hand is somewhat screwed up/paralyzed and I just recently purchased several and installed them on guns with scopes that make getting a hold of the charging handle more difficult.  Excellent investment and upgrade!!!  I don't put them on guns with forward mounted optics though as they just seem to be more prone to snagging on something at the wrong time.

All good brother. If you're buddy's vise is available, go that route. I'm just as much a tool whore as I am an AR whore. I've been wrenching for the better part of my life, so tools are invaluable. My dad taught me well.

Rock on and have fun, the most important part!

And some obligatory pics....

Optic change up for the M4E1 shorty. Primary PAC2.5x on a GDI R-COM E Model QD mount. The mount is a true STEAL for $42 shipped, as well as the PA "Blem" scope. Options, makes life fun.

Edit: Gun shoots like a dream suppressed (Gemtech GMT-Halo.) SA GB @ 4/18. No need to go bleed mode when you can run the gun malfunction free suppressed @ 22% gas. Seriously. Tune for the weak shit (PMC Bronze 55g FMJBT.)

Edit-II: Hope to throttle it down a bit more. I've got an Aero upper & RTB LW BCG in getting micro-slick Cerakote (now in black too, not just sniper gray.) May help..

Very nice!  What size barrel and rail does it have?

I just acquired a lone wolf G9 AR-9 pistol that has a 9" rail and 9.5" barrel. Its too long with my suppressor what what I am envisioning.  I'm thinking about sending the upper back to LW for a shorter barrel so I can recess my tirant can, but have to do a little more research.  I like your setup though!
