What 30 round mags work best with the 300 BLK? The larger bullet seems to have trouble in my P mags. I ordered some new ones a while back. It had a drop down menu where I could pick the caliber but when I received them, they all say 5.56. The website has since been changed to only have 5.56. So now I have plenty of 5.56 mags and only a couple 10 rounders that work well with the 300 BLK.

thanks,
swampie

I have never had a problem with NHMTG alloy  mags (20 or 30) and 300 Blk.

I have a couple hex mags I bought just because they are different and easy to tell apart for 300blk
I have never had any trouble with them at all.

When I first built my 300blk I bought a few Magpul E-Mags because at the time, Gen 1 P-Mags had a little tab that separates the two rounds at the top of the double stack and the E-Mag deleted that. I felt like the E-Mag would allow for reliable feeding of a greater variety of projectiles. That said, the newer P-Mags also delete that tab and my reloads work in all the P-Mags (20 and 30 rounder) that I've tried so I don't particularly have a preference now.

Here is a pic. Left to Right: Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3, and EMag

Hmmm. 4 replys and 4 different answers. I was hoping for more consistency LOL.

Do you guys fully load your mags and have no trouble with them or only about half full? Do they work with subs and supers?

thanks,
swampie

Gen 3 PMags have worked just fine for me with both supers and subs.

I use smoke Lancers with no problems. Plus the semi transparency let's me tell at a glance that the rounds loaded are 300BLK and not 5.56

There are different ways to go in response to this question about mags.  I've been a Magpul, Lancer, and HK mag guy for my 5.56/.223 applications...in other words, polymer.  As I've gotten into 300BO, I wanted to insure a complete lack of confusion and fubar in regards to accidentally shooting a .30 cal bullet down the .223 hole...ouch!  I bought a handful of C-Products stainless steel magazines in 10, 20, and 30 round versions to use exclusively in my 300BO's.  I don't think even I will be able to screw up realizing I just picked up a 300BO mag vs. a 5.56/.223.  Additionally...and I don't have the exact measurement as this moment...there was a tiny bit of extra space in the steel mags for my reloaded 300BO overall cartridge length...a tiny unexpected benefit IMO.

gen 2 and gen 3 30 round pmags here, no issues at all so far.  biggest bullet so far has been 220gr Remington.  completely reliable feeding of every ammo I put through them.

I've decided to separate my 5.56 and 300blk by size.  5.56 are all 40 round pmags.  300blk are all 30 round pmags.  easy.  might change in the future if I decide I want a high speed low drag tacticool plate carrier with mag pouches but for now it works.

I've used Lancers, Hex Mags, Troy Battlemags and Pmags, all with no issues. I don't shoot subs, so take that for what it's worth.

Magpul is supposed to release .300 magazines but I am not sure when they will be out!

I use the good old aluminum G.I. issue .223 mags...They seem to work fine. I have seen some discussion about making delicate modifications to the "lips" not eh plastic mags. Wish I could offer you a solution better than that. best of luck.

AWM is the best mag currently made... Not just with 556, but with all of the stanag mag caliber variants as well (300blk, 458 socom etc.)

Lancers.   I also use the translucency to make it obvious what is in them.

Oddly enough, the 75/77 gr loads that I used in all of my other mags for 5.56 platforms just baarreeely fit in the Lancers.     Still my favorite mags though.

You know how people always say dumb stuff like "you can run these magazines over!"?   I actually left a few sitting on a bumper a couple of weeks ago and ran over them on pavement.   They're fine.
