I am putting together a Mega Maten 308.  I purchased a 16" Rainier Arms Match .308 Barrel and am now planning on the hand guard (SLR Solo) and SLR Sentry 7 gas block.

The Rainier Arms Match Barrel only has one dimple for the gas block.  Does that mean I would have to do something to the barrel to use the set screw version of the gas block (pinning or second dimple)?  I know they sell a clamp on version that might be easier to install.

Finally, anyone using the SLR 11" Handrails with a 16" barrel?  I am not sure if I should get the 14" or 11".

Thanks for any feedback.

Ive been using the Yankee hill set screw lo-profile gas block for years........and never on a barrel with dimples...after I confirm proper placement on the barrel and that the firearm is functioning fine.......I use red Loctite on the set screws........trust me.........they are on there but good........I recently removed a set screw gas block that had blue Loctite on it and it was a bitch to get off.......combination of heat and a wooden block to get it to budge..........

I dimple all my barrels, but I only put one dimple in it, which is the one opposite the gas port.  No issues
