If I wanted to do a feature on my youtube channel with this cartridge would the OP be the right person to talk to about that?

Check this out...  AR15 Hunter . com did their first range report...  be sure to watch the whole thing to see what happens at 500 yards.

Wow have I neglected this thread.  Updates:

Subs running in our 1:7 twist barrels - 150 to 200 grains.  Shoot supers from the same barrel.

AR15hunter.com has had some kills with theirs...  as well as the video of them ringing steel at 500 yards with their build.

We offer a half dozen AR pre-fits in various lengths and finishes, and we have about a half dozen Savage pre-fits out there.  We have over 380 AR barrels out there now.

The Wolverine forum is doing well and growing.  People are really enjoying the cartridge and its popularity is growing.

Oh and folks are getting some great hog kills as well (one sample below - 80 yards with a 100 grain AccuBond).

And, one of our shooters did a pretty good job on the Hitler video... made me laugh...

Hitler Reacts to the 277 Wolverine

When it goes through SAAMI, they will post their view. It runs in standard AR15 barrels using standard 5.56 bolts so you can expect their views to be similar to the 5.56 maximums.

Just some back of the envelope calculations point towards the .277 Wolverine 110gr V-Max factory loads being in the 52,000 psi range +/-.

There may be some room at the top for more velocity, but the Wolverine does not have a large case and running handloads in the 60,000 psi + range does not do much for brass life.

Hey I figured it out!  Thanks for leading this horse to water. Now it's a project, ha.  I'll see if some other folks would like to populate the data as I get the feeling that if I do it myself, people might think it is skewed/bias.

No problem.  I happened to open the List of AR platform calibers page in Wikipedia right after reading this thread and noticed that the Wolverine was not listed.  It looks like their rep looked through it, cleaned it up and put the message that it needs more links.  So, if you have any other articles or reviews about it, that would be one place to start.  Also, I don't have any experience with uploading pics to Wikipedia, so someone else could help out with that.

The CIP registration is 50 Euros, but then you have to fly to Europe and persuade an ammo company to certify it, which starts somewhere north of a 100,000 round order, with 50% down payment upfront.

These are for use in the 1:7 twist barrels.  We have some heavier sub loads developed for handloaders as well using 200 grain Woodleigh and 200 grain Hawk SP's.

Looks like I have a contact at Norma now... will let you know how it goes, thanks for the heads up.  The 100,000 round order will be fun to fund... but I think I have a nice group of pretty loyal WLV shooters that would chip in/pre-order to get there.

The CIP registration will get us closer to SAAMI.

Thanks. In much of Europe handloading/wildcatting is not legal, so people use factories to develop their rounds, as many manufacturers have a CIP representative on site.

There was quite a lot of half truths/misinformtion surrounding Bill Alexander and the 6.5 Grendel. Some of that Bill brought on himself because, as an engineer, he can appear to be brusque. SAAMI also told him that it did not matter what they did in the past because if he ever wanted SAAMI to recognize the Grendel, then he would have to make it open source.

Since you have done this Mark, a major hurdle has been removed.

AFAIK, Norma does not have a CIP guy on site, but do submit their products for testing. Could be wrong on this.

I was only told my next call should be to Norma by someone that knows someone there and all that. I can get the 100,000 round order together if that's what it takes to make it happen.  Meanwhile my campaign with Hornady hasn't stopped.

You seem to know a lot about this "part", which I admittedly do not. So, again thanks for the help. I have nothing to gain at this point I just truly believe this is one of the best cartridges developed for general use for the '15 platform. Otherwise I wouldnt have spent all this time and money on it. I haven't profited a dime.  And we have about 550 barrels in the field. Gather that!  I have yet to hear someone say they don't like it or use it, so that's rewarding.  I can't wait to see this upcoming season's hunting pics with 10x the amount of barrels we had in the field vs. last year.

We have another project coming, too and have learned a lot. Lots to go.
