Very nice, we got similar looking builds. Suppressor just mocked up, I need a 7" mk8 DDC or a longer barrel.

I've finally got off my arse and finished gathering parts to do a 300 Blackout.  I built this one from scratch using parts that I snatched when they went on sale in order to keep a tight budget.  I already have 5 other assorted ARs so it wasn't like I had to get this done in a big hurry!

Does that lower have inserts for the trigger/hammer pins?  What are we looking at?

Ball-bearing assemblies.  I outlined the build here:  https://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_121/716475_300-Blackout-Build-With-A-Slight-Twist.html

Interesting.

Elftmann has been using bearings in their trigger packs for a while.

That's a shorty for sure! Love it!
The side chargers have always caught my interest...Who makes that upper and how do you like it so far?

I got that one from x-products. The original manufacturer of it is Matrix Aerospace.  It's pretty sweet.  Super smooth to rack, and very easy to clear a malfunction without losing cheekweld.  I would trust my life with it, not just a range toy.

Good deal! I've talked with the folks from X-Products out here at Shockwave in the Desert a few times, great folks! Had no idea they had a side charger for sale...looks like I have a new project

8.3" Ballistic Advantage barrel.

Scope should be here today.

I may eventually pick up a shorter can for it, as the Hybrid with the Keymo module is stupid fucking long.

ETA:  Scope will get paint when I get home from work tonight.

Long term .300 BLK project complete. SR-30 chopped to 7", Sig SRD762 Ti can hiding under a Nordic NCT4 rail. When I heard this can on a .300 BLK MCX 2 summers ago I had to have it as it was astonishingly quiet. Finding a good looking rail to accommodate a 1.75" OD can was a bit of a challenge but Nordic came out with something that was the perfect fit.

Sweet rifles guys. I have a 16 inch barreled 300BO already setup and just got my 10 inch barreled upper in today. Rest of the parts will be here shortly. Hard to compete with some great looking rifles here.

Top one is a 8.3" Ballistic Advantage barreled .300 Blackout with a Silencerco Omega. Lower is a 10.5" Tromix .458 Socom sporting a can that it shouldn't be unless I want it to explode after the first shot ....

Probably going to chop the rail to 10.75. Looks a little too long and throw a Sopmod Bravo on it.

110gr V-Max with 20gr Hodgdon CFE BLK  at a little over 100 yards. Put it on a Lead Sled and dialed it in. Was pleased with the results.

I would not chop it.

In training with many shorter-than-20" platforms, I can't get a good enough place to put my hand on the handguard (using a modern hold-over technique).  Don't base your cutting on looks, alone, when it has function.

Unless, of course, you're a midget or you have midget arms

Edit: I just realized you may only mean the rail, and not the entire hand-guard.

I'd be really hesitant to use a extended C-hold over a suppressor due to heat, so I say, cut away...
