Are there barrels out there that cool down faster than the factory barrel? Or are they all pretty much the same?

Whatever happened to those carbon fiber barrels?  Those probably cool down faster, but that was from YEARS ago.

Fluted barrels should cool down a little faster than non-fluted.

Proof Research.  They bought the IP from Advanced Barrel Systems (ABS).

JP also makes these, but I don't know if they actually do anything:

Ya I looked at those heat sinks from JP, it seems they are pretty dependent on being used with a JP barrel. I think I will just look at fluted barrels for better cooling.

I take a fan with me to the range and let it cool my bbls quicker than just letting them sit.

Seems to me surface area is pretty much what matters. More surface area means more cooling. Thus fluted barrels are superior for cooling.

How about THIS for surface area...
