As the subject states, I would like to start a Geissele SMR picture thread.

Searched but yielded nothing. Hopefully this gains some attention. Looking forward to seeing other builds utilizing the rails.

Here you go. It's not a dedicated picture thread, but there's a lot in there.

I hate these picture threads, they keep costing me money.  I have a 300 blk upper that is screaming for a 9.5" rail.  I just hope they don't announce a keymod rail the day after I receive mine.

Used to be a Stag Model 3.  Until I put the rail on, I guess.  In addition to the Geissele mk4, I used their gas block, as well as an SSA-E trigger.

I'm really, really loving the Geissele Mk4 SMRs aesthetically!

Hard for me to pick between the Mk3 and Mk4

I swapped out my MK4 13" for the MK1 10", wanted to to go shorter (the MK4 is for sale in the EE with Geissele QD mount FYI) and I want to say that the anodizing on the MK1 is very different from the MK4. The MK4 finish is smooth vs the aggressive, textured feel of the finish on the MK1. I really like this finish much more it feels like it will wear better, I wonder if they switched anodizers or this is supposed to be different for another reason?

What are the hole centers/spacing on the MK1?

It's built in threads to tighten the screws into for the add on rails...I think I said that right.

I'm sorry, I didn't word that well - how far is it from the centerline of one mounting hole to the centerline of the next mounting hole on the SMR?  We are talking about the same holes, just wondering what the dimension is between them.

Very nice, I think there may be people who would still prefer the rails at the end, and possibly keymod at the 45 degree positions.

How did you attach that vertical grip to the MK4 back there?

I think the KAC Key mod rails would look good at the end if you want to add them. They ease up to the rail section like the old MK4 does

If its anything like the other modular rails... once you add stuff on, the rails become bulkier then if the actual rail sections were built in. Thats why I love the original MK4 design so much.

Correct, the built in rails have a lower profile than the keymod accessory rails.  There will be two keymod rails available:  Full Keymod and Half Keymod (similar to the original MK4 but with keymod at the relief cuts.

All I got so far is this shitty picture of whats come in for my build.  Just visualize an ax556 lower with a MUR 1a up top.

RustedAce, are your mk4's on 14.5 or 16" barreled uppers?  I can't decide what barrel I want to use for this build.

sorry PFC, i didnt see your post. I did it with an mk2 rail section

funny thing is, i was going to attach one to my rail to show you but i just learned something- it looks like the cutout holes are slightly different depending on the version of rail. I've never had more than one mk4 rail in my hand at a time so I never noticed. The nubs on the back prevent it from lining up on mine correctly, but it fit like a glove on my dad's (older) rail

I have the middle version, my dad's (with the VG) is the bottom one. I guess i could grind a nub off, but I probably wont do that anytime soon
