Just for posterity's sake or anyone having issues in the future, there was some talk about low profile gas blocks.  Those surplus recce gas blocks are long gone, as are the KAC ones.  I was using a MK12 (I think) gas block and there was clearance issues.  The bottom and top were nearly touching and definitely were with any pressure on the rail.

I ended up buying a Centurion LPGB, as that looked the smallest in internet pics.

Here's some comparisons for anyone that may be having the same issue.  The Centurion is the shiny, smaller one if it wasn't obvious:

Plenty of clearance now.  The rifle is no longer clone correct though, so I'll just go fuck myself.

I’ll be that guy, unless you got an m4 lower with a happy switch, then no one’s is. Don’t think anyone will give you shit over a gas block. Especially since you can’t get the one you need. And if they do…I’ll happily fight that battle.

I've been using CMMGs on my builds for the past few years. Easy to find, unbranded, and as low-pro as they come.

Never seen one but honestly we have only seen like 5 of them so you never know.

It's a better optic than the x24 just not as good looking.

I got called yesterday and told that my back ordered RAS is on the way, and have the x42 already. I saw at some point the x42 was talked about in here, but I never saw a picture with one. No worries, and thanks for letting me know!

Got my KAC RAS earlier this week along with the bipod adapter and 600m irons.

Thinking it’s time for a Mod 1 to go with the 0 and H, but I might be swayed to do a recce. Which is easier to source correct parts/glass for, the recce or Mod 1?

Recce uses less parts but the x24 is very difficult to come across under $2,500.

x32 isn’t as expensive. Can usually be had for around $1200. I think the only real hard part for the OG is the 249f.

Good to know. I’d be running an OCM5, so the rarity of the BE 249f shouldn’t be an issue, and I have an extra CTR stock laying around. Hmmmm

No. Basically subtract 3" from barrel length to get rail length that will work with an AEM5.

Just to clarify in order to bring the 15.1 Douglas to length it requires an Adco style or actual Adco KAC Spacer before the OEMB?  I've got plenty of the 1/2 x 28 ones but my other CLE Douglas 15.1 is 6mm Arc so I'm a be needing a 5/8 x 24!   I'm a right in what I think I read or bassackwards?  Thanks fellas

@Bigbore

I see you guys are out of the KAC Spacer for 5/8 x 28 can ya cut me on or two up???

Been doing some shooting for groups again as my primers ran out and needed to test a new brand.

I noticed I was really struggling to keep focus on the reticle at 100 shooting for groups. I kind of noticed it when shooting at distance a few weeks ago but just shrugged it off to the x24 just being what it is compared to a serious precision optic I had been shooting on my bolt gun.

Well, the homogear was the culprit. I really thought the objective was clearing it but not so much. It was basically blurring out the bottom of my reticle. I moved it over to the starboard side and holy shit the x24 is clear as day again and the reticle is nice and crisp all the way down.

I guess the lack of parallax adjustment and having that peq obscure some of the FOV was messing with me.

Back to shooting sub moa with new primers.

Also, the homogear has held zero so far. About 300 rounds on it. If it starts to shift I'll crack it open and beef it up. And by holding zero I mean hitting a 6" plate at 50-100. Running an infinite zero so need to rezero how that it's flipped.
