Here is something diffrent. 6.8 lbs as it sits without the mag. Well balanced and sweet to shoot. I will add a scope when I decide on which one but I have a new MRO in the box that's been needing to be put on something.

Its expensive and doesn't do anything the modern handguards don't. If it wasn't for the .mil using them briefly there would be no interest in them

Check out the BCM KMR rails. I have the 13" on my 16"  and its awesome.

If would have went with an 18" barrel I would have got the KMR 15" rail.

Didn't mean for this to become a 18" vs 16". The decision has been made an I have an 18" barrel on the way. I'm just looking for some pics for inspiration.

Thanks to those that have contributed. I really love the PRI handguard look but still want to avoid going towards a Mk12 clone.

I know the PRI is pricy but I've always liked it, that's why I like the Mk12, but as I said this isn't going to be a Mk12 clone. I also like the PRI is an Ohio-based company. Most of the handguards I'm looking at are $200+ when not on sale.

I would probably go for a KMR except it's Keymod and I'm a MLOK guy now. I have a Noveske NSR that I LOVE but I'm positive it's my first and last Keymod handguard because I have 4 MLOK handguards now and prefer the way it looks and feels.

I really like the NSR and maybe I'll go for a 15" Noveske NSR MLOK.

I've also always liked the look of handguards from Apex Machining so maybe I'll see if their 15" goes on sale soon.

There's always the Geissele option, I really like those. If I wait until Memorial Day 2017 maybe I could get a 15" blem?

The SMOS GFY builder set with upper, lower, and handguard is very tempting. SMOS is the OEM supplier for Noveske (and is/was supplier of LaRue lowers) so it's just like the NSR. I think this is currently the leading option in my head.

What I do know is that unless I get it for free or super cheap I'm not going for a quad rail.

I should also start thinking about optics for this blaster.

Just for fun here are some of my 16" barreled builds.

13" Noveske NSR keymod, 16" FN midlength barrel. Great weight and handles well, I currently use this blaster most for 3-gun type events

Geissele 13" Mk8 with 16" PredatAR barrel

15" ALG V1 MLOK I just finished tonight, 16" Ballistic Advantage Lightweight midlength, awaiting optic

WOA 18" SPR barrel
SLR adjustable gas block
JP BCG w/ JP high pressure bolt
Raptor Charge handle
SSA-E trigger
PRS Stock
Ergo Deluxe grip
Impact Precision brake (it's suppressed now)

This was my original 18" SPR-ish build, I eventually built it into a mk12 mod1 and used the leftover parts to put together the 16" gun in the next picture.  The 16" is MUCH handier than the MK12.  I'd only recommend an 18" barrel if you were going to do a mk12 build.

honestly i cant tell a difference between a 16" and an 18" in terms of weight, maneuverability, etc.

a sbr/cqbr there is def a difference, but for spr type shooting, im a fan of the 18"/rifle gas

You can see it in the pic balanced on a 3/4" slat exactly where the center of gravity is so yeah its that balanced.

Yes, please. I won too and chose an 18" Stealth. I went with a G-rail though, the 13" MK4. But, I still can't decide on the stock or optic. Thinking of EMod and Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x44. Grip is a MOE K2+, trigger is an MBT. Slow build so I still have a long way to go.

I think I'll be going with a UBR but want to try one first to check the cheek weld. No idea on optic.

I'm getting ready to build an 18" SPR type and I can't quite make up my mind which barrel I want to use. I've got a URX 3.1 laying around and I think I want to use an A2 stock vs another LMT or B5. The two barrels I'm considering are the Noveske SPR or a Mk12 Douglas SPR barrel. I'm leaning towards the Noveske, will their intermediate gas system work well with the A2 rifle buffer?

This is actually not 5.56 but shhh, don't tell anyone. 18 inch Odin barrel.

I highly recommend these Vortex Viper PSTs as far as optics go. This one is the 2.5-10x33 FFP MRAD reticle(EBR-1 I think).

That's a good looking build! I've been eyeing the vortex 2.5-10 myself for this build. Is the illumination bright?

I had a UBR and can say that they are sturdy and have a comfortable cheek weld. They are very heavy and expensive though. I sold mine for a moe fixed stock, cut weight, same stability, and pocketed $200 for other things. I have sopmods on most of my shorter builds, but I might put the fixed moe on this 18 inch build. It can't be adjusted, but I like the LOP. Maybe I'm crazy for recommending something so cheap to arfcom, but good things still come in cheap packages sometimes.

With Form 1 can

Anderson lower with BCM LPK
A1 stock
Aero upper with Aero 12" Quantum M-lok hand guard
18" 416R SS 223 Wylde 1/7 with rifle gas
Not the best scope setup but a place holder until I can afford better. Mount is coming first.

Still need a bipod. No muzzle device yet as it is set up for my can

I've shot steel at 500 meters and had no problem but it is not a precision optic.  I don't have access to anything further.   I have a XTR2 3-15 if I want to be more precise.

Eye relief and height. I have to pull my head back to get proper eye relief and get low on the stock to line up on it. Looking at an Aero 1" SPR mount. I like the scope, mil-dot and it is quite clear. It works for now.

My LaRue 18 in Stealth Barrel should arrive tomorrow!  So here's where I'm at with my idea's for a SPRish build.

LaRue Low Profile Gas Block - 0.75
LaRue Mid-length gas tube
VLTOR MUR upper receiver
Trying to decide between a Geissele Rail or ALG, 15 inch.
As of right now I'm thinking LMT bolt carrier group.

As far as a lower is concerned I’m thinking anything I can get a good deal on.  Same for a LPK.  Trigger will be a CMC 3.5lb single stage.  I’m also considering the VLTOR A5 receiver extension.  Decisions, decisions…

Edited to add BCG

I am now at a crossroads.  I am torn between a 15in ALG rail and a 15in GEN III PRI.  I really like the round look with minimal picatinny.  I'm obviously not going for a MK12 MOD-0 clone, but this will be an SPR.  Is the PRI past it's prime?

This is an 18" Larue PredatAR barrel with Geissele Mk4 15" handguard & Leupold VX-R Patrol 3-9x in an Aero Precision mount.  It's essentially my lightweight version of an SPR.  Even with the fugly CA legal stock, it's under 8 lbs loaded (10 rounds) and carries like a carbine.   The 18" PredatAR barrel is around 28 oz (1.75lbs) is much lighter than your 18" Stealth at ~49 oz (3.05lbs), so your goals are probably a little different than mine.  With that said, the Geissele rail is awesome.

Man, all the barrel winners!  Congrats!  I feel like a dope, I bought mine, lol..

Larue Stealth 18"
Waiting on leupold vx-r patrol 3-9 and a ADM mount, that I'm fairly certain the post office has lost the mount..

I love OG SPR's, but I won this LaRue 18" so I won't be OG with it, since it's no OG.

I was still thinking PRI, but a 15" Geissele rail looks pretty awesome.
