Buddy was showing off his new LWRC Rifle today.  He is LEO so he opted for the IC-A5.

So impressed with it.  Everything is built so well in my opinion.  From the propitiatory LWRC stock to the BCG to the ambi controls, etc.   I already was a huge fan of LWRC because of the REPR (never owned a LWRC product, though - just always been out of reach financially for me), but I am even a bigger fan now.  It kind of gave me some flashbacks to my BRD days haha.  Beautiful rifle.  Would love to own one of each LWRC product, and a couple of REPRs if I could afford it.

I also notice LWRC sells individual parts through their store which I may take advantage of - their LWRC stocks, folding vertical foregrip, etc.  Between LWRC and KAC I doubt I will ever use any other brand, just my opinion of course.
Very high end stuff

A buddy of mine just put one together.

He used a LWRC M6 piston carbine upper with Magpul furniture, BAD controls, ALG Defense combat trigger and Vortex optics.

He's happy so far.

Sorry, no pic yet.

Hope this helps.

LWRC's ambi lower is probably my favorite lower made.

bought one of their rifles when they were still in Virginia - great rifle

recently upgraded to one of the IC's - very pleased

I also got to go to their Armorer class - was pretty good

I don't know how you could justify their price. Tons of great rifles out there for $1500. And they ask $2500. I just don't see it. Then you have to look at the ugly big barcode they stamp on the side of the reciever.

i have an older M6A3 18" that is my scoped rifle and it a 1 MOA barrel with SMK tipped ammo and had been 100% reliable.

i recently got an IC SPR and since i'm a lefty, the ambi lower works for me. it boce to be able to drop the bolt like a right handed shooter. i was a little on the fence about the rail but now i love the slimmer design of the new style without all the picatinny rail.

this one is a 14.7 pinned and is so short i dont feel much difference btw it and my 12.5 SBR. its a little snappy on recoil but a heavier buffer helped that. still not DI like but i'll tollerate it since the pistons stay cleaner.

and i just love the bar code, its so 21st century modern. glad its only the size of a small bug.

I got a IC in 14.7 pinned spr and I love it. I got it for 1999 on grab a gun price quote but I have seen them cheaper around Black Friday. I'm not sure where it is on the site but some one picked up a a2 upper for 600-700 so that might be a option as well.

The only downside I can dredge up on the LWRC piston rifles is a little more weight...and that's pretty much the case with other piston rifles.  I have a 16" M6A2-S, and it's an awesome rifle.  It was my first AR15.  Workmanship, reliability, and durability have been 100%...any ammo or conditions.  A buddy has one of the very high end IC Spartan models with fluted barrel and all the bling.  It's slightly lighter than my M6.  That said, I probably won't buy or build another piston rifle as I don't think there's that much benefit compared to the simplicity and reliability of a properly set up and quality DI rifle.  My 10.5", 14.5", 18", and 24" AR15's...and two AR10's...are all DI, and I'd trust them as much as my LWRC.  No smack to LWRC intended.  I notice even LWRC is now making some excellent DI rifles to compliment their lineup, it's a smart move IMO.

I have a 16" IC, with the non adjustable gas piston.  Using a heavy spring it works well suppressed, but will not cycle some 223 unsuppressed.  No problems unsuppressed with the factory spring.  Unfortunately that's just how that rifle came (without the adj block).  It's consistently MOA or less depending on ammunition.  Took it out to 750 yards this weekend without any difficulty, but normally I have a RDS on it.

Quality wise, it's on par with my LaRue, I usually can't post as good as groups with the LWRC but the difference is minimal.

Obviously a step above the cheaper ARs I own and I much prefer LWRCs piston system to PWS and POF.  I would buy another LWRC but neither of the other two.

I only own one - the IC-PDW ("Xiphos"), which was a limited edition 8.5" PDW with an HK-style stock. I have it mated to a Silencerco 7.62 Specwar. It has a Geissle SD3G trigger, skirmish sights and an Aimpoint T1. Overall, the build and finish quality is better than any AR-style rifle I've seem. It's a deceptively handy little rifle and the ambi-lower is, as above, one of the best out there.  The only downside is the cost of admission - I have around $3K into it with the stamp.

While at the indoor range doing some ammo testing.  Put a LT FDE Rat stock, MBT, and heavy (red) spring in it.  Lower 1/3 mount MRO is the sight I typically run. SilencerCo Omega in FDE is the suppressor.

You do realize that the $2,500 price tag is for a piston system, correct?  I have yet to see a complete piston rifle from factory for $1,500.00.

They also make a DI rifle that seems like it would be comparable to Knight's for a couple dollars less. (And I say that as a KAC lover.)

Actually, you can pick up a Pws for $1500 right now. And you can regulate the gas for suppressors. Unlike the guy who uses a heavy spring and has trouble with his non adjustable lwrc. Not sure why he would buy it over a Pws if he had to do it again

That was me.  I have a PWS, and I already mentioned the LWRC system is better.  The particular edition I have did not come with an adjustable gas block, others do.  Further, the rifle works fine with a non-heavy spring both suppressed and unsuppressed, because the system releases the excess gas.  However, because the majority of my shooting with it is suppressed there's no reason not to run the heavier spring.

I would certainly buy the same rifle over the PWS, even with the non adjustable block, but since it comes with an adjustable one it's a moot point.

Maybe he likes the feel of the LWRC.  I know for me when I was looking, I narrowed it down between HK & LWRC.  I was able to handle both and preferred the LWRC.  Also being a lefty, LWRC was the way to go.

Mossy, thanks for the compliments.  I got very lucky with that limited IC.  I happen to read the article about the design and how it was being built as part of the Army's open invitation for a new design.  I called my local LGS and he said they were going to get some.  I waited nearly 14 months, like everyone else.  My LGS is great, they usually require 50% deposit.  I went in to put it down and the manager told me only $500 would do since they had no idea when they would getting them.  By the time it came in, my final payment was $200.00.

In reference to Modern Outfitters, yes they do excellent work.  That's where both the Six8 and REPR came from.  I'm working with them on a .300 BO, possibly a integrated suppressor version.  Not sure yet as its not a priority at the moment.

I've always been a fan of yours too, never get lucky with the limiteds but Modern Outfitters sure does excellent work don't they?

Awesome, I'd never let that one go.

Yeah, they did my Six8. It took them 3 tries before THEY were satisfied with it and damn, pictures just don't do it justice. I remember seeing your Repr when they finished it and posted the pics over on the Ldub forum. I'd say pics don't do it justice either.

That's what I love about them.  We as the customer may be satisfied, but if they aren't......it doesn't matter.  What scope are you running on your REPR?  Your right pictures don't do it justice, either yours or mine.  I'm sure yours looks killer in person.  It was funny, Jon called me to tell me they emailed me that group of pictures and said that it's not that gold looking in person, that they had their photographer adjust the lighting to highlight what was cerakoted.  He told me if I didn't like it in person to ship it back and they would do whatever I wanted at no cost.  That is customer service above & beyond anything.

My first lwrc was a m6a2, the classic quad rail rifle. I then had a POF and PWS. Once I got into these types of rifles, my AR collection shrunk to 2.... from 5. I now have a 14.7 spr ic, and a POF lower/ PWS upper rifle. I am a lefty, and well executed ambi rifles are worth the extra money all day long.

Thank you.  Have you looked on the EE for a used one?  Might get into the LWRC camp at an affordable price.

In all seriousness, its great to see others who love our products and the quality we produce.

All depends on what you are looking for. If you want more features and high quality materials; that's what we make. Obviously with more quality;time, effort, parts, and etc; the pricing goes up as it costs us more to make.

Here is some general info of what you are getting for the price with out going on a long rant:

Sure, there are plenty of options out there and some of them are at a lower price range but you will get what you pay for (8/10 in the firearms industry). Just depends on what you want in a rifle I suppose.

I don't know how you could justify their price. Tons of great rifles out there for $1500. And they ask $2500. I just don't see it. Then you have to look at the ugly big barcode they stamp on the side of the reciever.

Can most of your LWRC rifles be built up from scratch by a consumer?  I dont think I could build a REPR, for example - but I am wondering if I could purchase the right LWRC lower, upper, etc to build something like the PDW
