Colt Competition stripped lower from Primary Arms.

I got around to assembling mine today and noticed this about the fit of the Colt stock to the lower. Pretty sure it was not the stock, but I tried both a Colt A2 and Type D A1 stock assemblies and they fit the same. Had a finished Tactical Machinery lower on the bench and put the same tube/stock on it and the fit between lower and stock was smooth with no lip.

Anyone else run into this?

This.  Real Colts aren't RDIAS, Lightning Link or Binary Trigger compatible.

Ya, knew that going in. Still I took a chance - figured it would be something unusual.

Took a chance and got burnt. Fuck it - time to pour a tumbler of Knockando and move on.

Ok - maybe not "junk" but it does stand out (a lot more in person than the picture shows) and is not visually appealing. Would you be happy with it?

I'll just install a carbine stock on it, grind down the end plate to fit flush and call it done. I just thought the CS stock would be a good match to that lower. (and no - the stock is not for sale)

I would just build it up as a carbine with collapsible stock.  I'm the guy that purposely kept out of spec Noveske lowers, and built them up into tack drivers.

Those were only found on A1's. From all the exhaustive "research" I have done it appears Mattel got out of the M16 game long before the A2's appeared on the scene.

No worries there. Bubba done left the shop years ago

It has an A2 stock attached. It has a slight lip like yours that I never noticed until I saw your pictures and took a look at it. Doesn't bother me in the least. I've only built on ArmaLite, NoDak Spud, an Aero Precision receivers. This one looks as good as all of them, and went together (with a Colt LPK) without an issue. If I HAD to complain about something, it'd be the purple tint to the anodizing. Want to get rid of yours?

Same here.  Mine is nicer, cosmetically at least, than any "real" Colt lower I've used.  The Colt LPK installation was uneventful and everything works like it should.

After looking at fastswift's photo, I don't think that I would have even noticed.

Hummm...here is the same stock on a different lower. (same "keyhole" forge mark BTW) And I had zero issues assembling the LPK on the "Colt". Everything fit as expected.

On the "Colt" lower the overhang is much more noticeable in person and it cuts into the web of my hand.
