What to do on a slow day at work?  Build couple uppers of course.

Top
Colt upper
Colt 14.5" SOCOM 1:7 bbl
FN Bolt Carrier and Bolt
A2 Flash Hinder with crush washer
P&G handguards
KAC 600m BUIS
KAC Bipod Adapter
KAC QD Sling Swivel (opposite side, as I'm missing the sling side clamp)
PRI Charging Handle (05-0031)

Bottom
FN A2 upper
FN 20" A2 1:7 bbl
FN Bolt Carrier and Bolt
A2 Flash Hinder with crush washer
A2 handguards
NIB M1907 sling
PRI Charging Handle (05-0031)
(missing the index screw to finish the rear sight, on order)

Next build is to teach one of the Gunners Mates here how to build a M4A1 Block II, got a M16A4 upper here waiting on a A4 barrel (I'm assume the Front Sight Base is different from a A2, different NSNs) that will get the KAC M5 handguards.  Now to break them all down and put back in the parts bin.

I pulled my Weaver 3-15x50 off my SPR build.  It just sat too high in the Larue mounts and the 50mm objective wouldn't let it sit low enough since I use a PRI swan sleeve.  In it's place I put my Bushnell 3-12x44 FFP Illuminated on a set of TPS rings.  These are low enough I'm still right around 1.5" to centerline even with the PRI sleeve.

Swapped out the take-down pin on one of my Noveske lowers to one which fit a little more snug.

Installed another URX panel on my 16" AAC/Noveske rifle.

And I just completed a 900 round M855 loading party.  30 mags.

Received 2 packages today and finished up my LMT MRP rifle chassis project.

I had previously been using this ADM UIC lower with a KAC SR-15 E3 URX3 upper half but decided to put this new MRP on that lower.

The muzzle brake I am quite fond of is the YHM 4302 QD for my 762 silencer, and when I went to install it to the LMT 16" midlength gas barrel, it took absolutely no shims to get proper torque to hold it to the barrel.

I also mocked up a little bit in FDE on it with my Aimpoint in the Knight's Armament Comp mount, PN 98073.

Put 34 magazines into an ammo can.

A mix of Colt, ASC, Lancer, Pmags, and figured out without much difficulty that 30 mags of the 30rd variety will fit.

There were 3x 40rd M3s and 1 straight 20 put in this can.

The kind I'm using are the AN/PVS monocular cans and I removed the foam.

I also swapped out some muzzle devices on a few rifles.

I removed the buffer tube from the last complete Noveske lower I purchased and installed a Patriot Ordnance anti-tilt RE.

The gun is still DI as it's running a CLE barrel with an intermediate port position.  The only reason I chose to do this was I wanted to see if the carrier would cycle any differently and Brownells had free shipping so I decided to "splurge."

Now I need another buffer to put in the spare parts collection as I have a few extra castle nuts and endplates to be employed with this Noveske RE.

I also installed a birdcage FH on one of my KAC rifles, improved staking on a few BCGs, and picked up a new parts box

Today I was able to assemble my KAC URX3.1 13.5" onto a spare SR15 E3 receiver and 14.5" E3 legacy barrel.

I also dimpled a gas block journal for set screws.

ETA: the upper and the Noveske SBR lower it's riding on

This is my new got it over a month ago Colt CE1000 Expanse M4 lower half same markings as the LE6920 M4 carbine series. The upper half is my older made in 2011 SP6920 (lower is marked "Sporter M4 Carbine") with KAC M4 RAS rails, LaRue FUG QD VFG, KAC 300m rear BUIS and BCM GF ambi CH.

Today I just changed the last part and I'm pretty much done for now, until the next improvement as usual.

I changed the factory supplied Colt low mass match hammer (Nickle-Teflon coated) and trigger which breaks at 6 lb and they're the same that comes with the basic models Colt Competition Rifles made in TX.

The new hammer and trigger are a take off from my other Colt 6721 A3 Tactical (HBAR heavy profile barrel) carbine which is just a regular semi auto hammer type 2 with notch, a nice light and smooth factory trigger which breaks a little more maybe about 8 lb, I then installed the low mass match hammer on the A3 Tactical carbine which I use mostly for bench and precision target practice.

Other parts I had changed last month:
Magpul MOE-K2 FDE grip
Colt H buffer
Colt 2 piece standard mag catch
Magpul STR FDE stock
LaRue Tactical padded 2 point coyote sling

The upper half of the Expanse carbine I also upgraded last month, which I will mostly use as a shooting range and plinking upper that I will use with my other AR lowers.

Parts upgraded to the Expanse upper half (not shown):
Magpul MOE SL FDE handguards
Magpul M-LOK FDE vertical forward grip
Magpul M-LOK handguard QD sling mount
Badger Ordnance tactical latch gen 1 CH

Traded out a Vtor stock for an MFT Minimalist and bought another Minimalist. Stuck one onto the SBR, not sure if I like it on that or not yet while I stuck the other onto my 9mm AR build. Took the B5 that was on the SBR and stuck it onto the mid length. May put the MFT on there and keep the B5 for the SBR. Ordered a Rock River Arms 9mm A4 upper for the 9x19 work in progress.

The light setup is just a simple Magpul 45* MLok mount. Just remove OEM mount (picatinny) from the Surefire and direct mount to the Magpul. Super easy, rigid, awesomely functional, and sexy.

It's threaded so I can add a can at some point. I plan on shooting it without a muzzle device for awhile.

My wife and I have been out of town this week celebrating our first anniversary, so working on guns took a bit of a slow down.

Last night I installed 4 Strike Industries CH latches on some Anderson CHs.  The $9 addition is very grippy and includes their own roll pin and an additional spring, so at this point, I have about 20 extra latches, accompanying springs, and roll pins.

I also wanted to install a Noveske QD endplate on my SR-15 with the integral cups and it came out very well.  The LMT buffer tube and Noveske egg plate work extremely well together.  Some buffer tubes will rotate when the castle nut is being tightened.

I also put a stainless Anderson midlength gas tube to the Rainier gas block I have and secured it to the stainless midlength 16" barrel it will live on.  I'm going to bead blast the entire assembly to see how I like the look on the gas tube as I've grown accustomed to running nitrided tubes since they look better IMO.

Cleaned a couple Service Rifles and marked the sights for simpler adjustments.

The new Brownells magazines were allowing the bolt to override when loaded with 2 rounds. So far on three magazines, beating the right feed-lip down about 0.020" fixed that.

That's my favorite handguard of all of them. I think it's one of, if not the best looking one on the market. (opinion, yes) But, your receivers are stealing the show. Just sick. What are they? if you don't mind me asking...

I had a URX3 Rifle length SR-15E3 upper just begging for a KAC 200-600m rear sight so I pulled the 300m off it and installed the new one.

This URX2 E3 upper will soon be transitioning onto a new lower as soon as I order it.  There are some new parts arriving Tuesday which will have a permanent home on this lower.

It will be Christmas in May

Thank you

I received some KAC pieces that I'd been jonesing over for a while and I'm grateful for the opportunity to add them to the collection.

One of the borrowed service rifles has a broken barrel nut where the FF tube connects, and the rear sight is likely missing a 2nd detent ball when compared to it's sibling. Gotta get those fixed.

I built this upper today using a Ballistic Advantage 16" midlength gas barrel and Anderson LW upper receiver.  Having traded the rail system which was previously on this rifle (KAC URX3 Rifle PN 30005-3), I had a KAC URX barrel nut already attached to the barrel assembly and found a Knight's URX3.1 13.5" handguard in the EE which had no hardware.

Perfect.

When the rail and upper receiver were test fit for the first time, I found the fitment to be almost perfect as the rail didn't rotate much past alignment with the flat top.

I always do a dry run of torque on the barrel nut to ensure everything is lined up correctly but mostly just to see how it all fits so that I know what to look for during the final assembly.

Not sure what optic will be used but the way it seems to be going, my new Razor 1.5-8 might be finding its way onto this gun.
