Yesterday I visited one of my LGSs and discovered they had some nitrided 7.62x39 AR barrels so I picked up one. It is going to be the replacement for the non-CL barrel I bought years ago. For my rifles that I have shot with corrosive ammo, I think nitride barrels are the way to go.

I shot it at the indoor range today. I had installed a new buffer and wanted to check functionality. Worked great, even with the cheap stuff!

I've got this beat up old charging handle. Its probably close to a decade old.
The pin kept walking out of the holes and I couldn't figure out why. Since this charging handle is a gnat's ass away from tossed in the trash, I wanted to see if I could squeeze just a little bit more use out of. I'm going to preface by letting you guys know that this isn't my "go to" charging handle by any means. I took a 10-32 tap and tapped the upper and lower side. With as much finess as I could muster I drilled out a 1/8" hole through the latch. I then took two 10/32 set screws and screwed them into place just as the latch wouldn't spring forward anymore, then back off like 1/8th of a turn. The loctite is drying now and we'll see if it works? Attached File Attached File |

Built my Recce ish upper last night. Need to get BUIS and an Optic and its done. Cant wait to test fire, I think my gas block is a little off and the roll pin get messed up on install. So I may need to play with the alignment a little. Sorry no pics yet need to host them.

Decided to make some changes on my S&W M&P15 sport II, bought a Geissele ambi charging handle/ Lantac dragon muzzle device and a Troy charlie extended hand guard. This is my beater AR that will get passed onto my oldest son someday, but I felt it was time to mod it a little more.

Took a few rifles out with a client yesterday to get some training done, and some scopes zeroed.
He was a first time rifle shooter and we went over taking the BCG down, lubrication, cycle of operation, and getting his red dot zeroed at 25y. When I got my scopes zeroed, I took aim at the new steel plates recently installed this year, and started abusing the 300yd plate. Having been a member there for 5 out of the last 9 years, this is a nice upgrade to see. Guns fired were my SR-15 E3 that was cut to 14.5 and a M4QD MAMS pinned and welded with a Razor 1-4 FFP, a Noveske SR-15 E3 barreled rifle with a Strike Eagle 1-6, and my E3 barreled FDE Daniel Defense with the Razor 1-6. |

I decided to use a Faxon lightweight gas block on the 6.5 Grendel project I have going and it's going to look really good against the stainless barrel. I also put a nitrided rifle length gas tube on it. The AAC shims I ordered for it as well came in the same package along with a new firing pin for my 6.5 G, and a new charging handle latch. |

Just awaiting the return of my mini recce barrel from Dave @ Defensive Creations.
16in midlength DD barrel with a pinned SLR titanium gas block and geissele MK14 in DDC sent off to have the barrel chopped down to 14in and pinned with a Warcomp. All gets attached to a vltor mur and topped with a steiner t5xi in a geissele mount. So I suppose I didn't do it myself to my AR, but ya know |

Did a little updating to my Creedmoor builds. Top one got a MOE+ grip and a 34mm bubble level. Still to come is the accushot monopod. Bottom one got the Millet mounted in the Samson QD mount, limbsaver, custom heavy rifle buffer. Sprinco red spring is in the mail for it. https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/57761/20170225-220326-1-154233.jpg View Quote Some great looking rifles man! |

I had a few rifles using Ergo gappers on older KAC triggerguards. I put some new style KAC triggerguards in those rifles and the ones I removed went onto some guns that use the BCM Mod3 grip.
