Tough call on an optic. PST in 1.93 or P4Xi in 1.5.

Having the NSW makes me want to go with the Steiner but the precision shooter in me knows the PST is gonna be 100% better at distance.

I guess I gotta figure out what I want out of the rifle.

The Steiner looks at home on that rifle, sick builds by the way.

Mini Bro's

Ended up going Steiner in 1.93. I was the fastest with it and it's a nice light mid mag rifle to fill the gap between a RDS and SPR/recce.

The PST made its way into my dad's rifle. He liked the reticle and size better in the 13.9

Anybody rocking a 14.5" "mini" recce in 6mm ARC?

Thinking thats going to be my next build this spring/summer

Paired with a MVPO scope... 3-18x

Basically an NSW Block II DMR in 6mm ARC

Would that still be allowed within the "Mini Recce" gang, or is there a Mini DMR/SPR gang I'd have to get jumped in to?

Sumbitch! I was planning either another RIS II rail, or a PRI.

Awesome build

Not an AR but hopefully it'll be allowed here. Damn elevation turret devours the acro window so there's more shaking out to do.

Man, this dumb thing has cost me way too much money for what it is. You dump however many thousands into it and wind up with...a piston AR with terrible real estate to attach things.

It's a cool rifle but unremarkable. Not sure if people buy them just to flex or what, but I'd trust my life to my gas mini recces all day before this.

ETA if anyone wants some 9.5/10 NF rings in 1.5", let me know. Happy to cut the MR gang a deal before they go in the EE.

Do the older ATACRs have taller turrets than the new ones? I have the same mount setup with an ATACR, and the top of the turret goes right up to the bottom of the window on my P2.

No. I have a very early and a newer ATACR and turrets are the same height

Not positive as this isn't an ATACR on my mini. With a true chin weld I'd say you get about 60-70% of the acro window. It's not ideal but certainly works.

Just busting your balls. The 10.5" Scar16 NRCH with an acr stock and rego rail is a super cool looking rifle. I just feel I would put my thumb on the front sight a lot.

Ah man no offense taken whatsoever. The SCAR is cool and that's about it. The whole front end setup is a mess, there isn't room for anything

Re-arranged the safe today ans realized the mini is now the most common rifle I own

The ATACR would be good, but you would only want to use about 1x -4x. After you get past 4x the image quality starts to degrade and after 6x it's basically unusable. The RH25 is an awesome optic though.

Received my Arken 1-8!last weekend.  It’s going on my 11.3” Wilson combat 300blk mini.  So far the jury is still out.  The glass seems pretty good, illumination is better than the 1-4 nxs not as good as the p4xi but it has a 34mm tube and pulls a good bit of light compared to the 1-4 nxs.  Plan to get it mounted and sighted in as soon as I can get to the range and plan on doing a comparison with it and the other optics sitting on my other minis.

Very interested on hearing your thoughts on it. Almost put it on my mini.

I think the Steiner LPVOs should be way more popular than they are.  1-4 is great on my 300.  I have a 1-5 on my 11.5 I should snap a pic.

i think Steiner kinda priced it self out with the increased price.   i love the P4xi, but at the current price you can find a bunch of other options or go a little cheaper and explore some of the new stuff hitting the marks.  i do agree that 1-4 is the perfect power range though.

Exactly this. I've had two P4s and all in all have lots of good things to say as it relates to performance. At their old price they were truly unbeatable. At $600 or whatever, the picture becomes less clear (pun!).

If they basically copied the VMR2 reticle. Left it 1-4 and put the numbers for the mils on the reticle. It would be the perfect optic. Even at $699.

I paid $225 for my P4Xi. It was dirty as hell, had paint and salt water all over it, but cleaned up nice with a few hours of tedious work. It’s my favorite LPVO.

Been doing some reading about how 12.5" barrels perform and decided to try one out. Freshly assembled Daniel Defense 12.5" barrel. Next step is to test fire with the YHM suppressor gas block. I believe it will cycle fine with the can, but likely not enough gas without it as the gas port in the block is only 0.054" so it'll take some tuning to get it right.
