I would get the 6940. I love the flip up pinned FSB sight on the 6940 for some reason. I just can't get past how much I love it...
Followed by the 6940 P, 6720 and then their new 20" inch barrel A4 rifle. I'm not really a fan of the 6920 because of the barrel profile. I would also prefer that the 6940 come with a lightweight profile barrel like on the 6720. |

I have both a SOCOM and a regular LE6920 so I will just talk about these two. No practical reason to get the SOCOM unless you need a heavier barrel for shooting suppressed or auto, or arguably, for slightly better precision. The increase in weight is only 4 oz, but as they say, ounces = pounds and this affects balance as well.
For reasons other than practical ones, the SOCOM is good if you want to build a Block 1/1.5/II clone or if you just like the M4A1 rollmark or think it may be worth more some day. You can always switch the rail on the regular LE6920 to a KAC RAS (~$125). But as others have said, SOCOMs are cheap now so it may make sense to decide based on price. |

Make mine a 6920 SOCOM please, and thank you. All of them being so readily available makes me very happy though.

Probably the 6721. Lightweight profile barrel and a pinned FSB

If I were buying one today, it would be the 6720 from PSA for $799.
That is a great rifle at a phenomenal price. |

Or 6944. I have no use for 16" barreled carbines View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Yep. I don't care for 16" 223/556 rifles in general, and 16" carbines I care for even far less than that. With that said, I recently acquired one of those KAC handguard equipped Colt SOCOMs for just $899 shipped. I'm gonna swap its factory 16" carbine barrel for a 14.5" or 12.5" barrel, and call it a day. That will be my "one" Colt. Although, if I go 12.5, I'm gonna go with a DD barrel and BCG, so it won't quite be a Colt anymore. |

While I do want another 6933 upper, I am glad I bought two of the SOCOM's at $899.
I might still pick up the 6720 also...prices are so good right now... ETA: picked up a 6720 for $817 shipped...couldn't help it... |

Out of those, the regular 6920. All around workhorse.
If it was a choice of any Colts I'd say 6933, or even SBR and cut the barrel down on the 6920 to 10.5 to 11.5" |

Socom. For the simple fact that it says M4A1 on the receiver. That will keep its value up there. Plus, free float that barrel for awesomeness.
