About 2.5" is what it would come out to. The FSB is typically 2" long from the handguard cap/shoulder and I recently built an 18" using a WOA with a rifle gas position. The 1" gas block left 3.5" from the face to the shoulder of the threads, so figure 2.5" on a FSB type rifle.

Not mine, I googled.
Mine is going together soon, and has an intermediate gas system, which is a first for me. |
