HCS, PRI, and BCM are all GTG. Just depends on how clone correct you wanna get and how much you want to spend, but any of those three will suit you well.
As for the durability of the PRI GenIII; you won't be breaking it by hand. |

There are going to be no "low budget items" when it comes to making this clone. I had a HCS Mod 1 upper that was a tack driver with just a ACOG 4x32 on it until I could come up with the proper $ to do the correct scope, and then the suppressor. But, I had a daughter who was getting married at the time, and suppressor waits are close to a year, and I finally said no way will I ever be able to complete. Put it on here and it sold within 1 day of listing. Better have deep pockets lined with $ or you might want to rethink getting into it. I just hit some bumps in the road and deceided to go another way with a MK 18 clone. HCS is good stuff by the way. Hope this helps!

I know the difference on the HCS would be the carrier by Young, FN bolt, also the addition of a Harris bipod, but other components seems like it doesn't really matter, and are mostly PRI already. To a noob like me, the only main difference is the bipod.... is it worth $500-750 difference? |

I know the difference would be the BCG and Barrel, but other components seems like it doesn't really matter Everything is the same, but you get a Young Manufacturing bcg, the ARMS rear sight (pri puts their own sight on their upper, although you can get it with the ARMS), the bipod and ARMS adapter on HCS's upper. HCS and don't look back. Kevin is awesome and he'll take care of you. Also, the guy that build them for him actually used to build them at Crane. You can't really get any more legit than HCS.
In terms of quality, my HCS Mod1 is almost boringly accurate and consistent. really a fantastic upper, and money well spent. I'm actually selling some Noveske barrels because I don't need them any more with this thing. (And that hurts to say because I'm an admitted Noveske whore) |
