Cool guy pics are cool...but man I cringe when I see guys running plate carriers on metal boats.  There is a lot of shit bouncing around on VBSS missions and plate carriers...cool...but that soft armor is sure nice to have when you are trading rounds down a metal hallway.

Yeah, it's an RC2.  Spends its time between several rifles, but mostly 300blk and 308

Only looked through an elcan, never shot one, but I assume the eye relief is pretty good based on that? Wish I would have thought of that when I peeked through it, was stunned by how clear the glass is. That's the one thing I don't like about SCOGs.

If I remember right I think the eye relief is either 2" or 2.5" compared to the 4x32 ACOG's 1.5"

What's the best way to pick up a 10.3" barrel with FSB?

BA has them; but I don't want that finish and the DD FSB is wrong. I was hoping for something already done and semi affordable, cutting a 6920 barrel would be great, but I'd like to go anothre route if I could.

99 percent of everything out there is 10.5"

Cutting down a Colt gov pro barrel or buying a DD 10.3 unpinned, and sending to ADCO for FSB drill is your best bets

Hang it from a wire in your garage, tape over what you don't want painted, and spray it with alternating colors, finishing with a light coat of fde or taupe or whatever lighter color is de riguer with the clone fashionistas in NYC nowadays.  Don't bother prepping the metal.

The key is don't make it look like you tried too hard.

I think I used rustoleum; just make sure the paint will bond to both metal and plastic.

What brand is recommended?
Rustoleum camo, Krylon, Skilcraft.

1 can from the tan spectrum, 1 brown, and 1 green.

Put a box down on the floor. Tape the stuff you don't want painted. Spray one side with whatever pattern you desire (laundry bag is the go to) while drinking a beer. Flip and repeat.

The site that shall not be named gets them in from time to time - Google Colt 10.3" barrel and it will be one of the first couple sites returned.  Also Gunbroker has a few right now as well, at somewhat decent pricing too, considering what's included.  Unless you just fall into a Colt 10.3" the majority just get a 14.5" or 16" cut down by ADCO, usually works out cheaper than a Colt 10.3" as well, plus that's how the MK18's were built anyway.  That's what I did on my BKI but was able to find a Colt 10.3" in stock for my BKII

Colt 10.3" with Colt BCG

Is there a best place to find good prices on 14.5" or 16" Colt barrels?  And what am I looking at for a chop and A2 FSB job at ADCO?

Might be cheaper for you to just cut down a barrel that already has an FSB. Its $125 for adco to add a FSB and 75 for the chop.

Alternatively, Class III Machining does excellent work and has about as fast a turn around time as ADCO. And its cheaper. There is a forum thread on arfcom with all of his work and contact info. He cut down a Remington 700 barrel and MPX barrel for me. I think he charged like 50 bucks for the barrel chop.
