I just picked up a LE6940 from a guy for $1000.  It has about 200rnds through it.  Didn't have the cleaning kit or sling but did have the mags and owners manual.  He delivered it to me in a Bulldog OD green case. Gun looks great.  I've been looking for one of these for awhile but they are pricey on gunbroker and the other sites.  This one does have the restricted markings on it. Thanks for any feedback.

You did OK, 200 rounds is like new and you got the case.

I don't think the restricted markings add any real value but some people might prefer them for the novelty.

He said a 6940, not a 6920.  Much better then OK on price.   You did very well, considering 6940s sell for around $1400-1500 on average.   The 6920 is what you can find for $1100-1250.

Great deal on a great rifle.

You're right.  I looked at DSG and the upper by itself was $1,000.

They didn't have any either.

I paid almost $1400.00 for mine in December.  Ordered it on a Friday and it was in my LGS on Tuesday.

Added an Aimpoint Micro T1 with LaRue mount, Larue FUG grip,  Magpul CTR stock and LaRue tactical 2 pt. QD. sling.

I'm couldn't be more pleased with my M4.

Here's an old  pic from December with only the Aimpoint on it at that time:

You got a great rifle for an excellent price OP.  Congrats.

Seems like there's quite a long wait for Colt AR's currently.

200 rounds?  It's not even broken in yet. I got mine about four years ago (new) and it cost me $1,350; you'd be hard pressed to find a comparable price for a NIB 6940.  Now go get yourself a decent optic and you'll soon see what all the talk is about with regards to its accuracy...

I LOVE mine and with that said, IMHO, you did great.

You got an excellent deal my friend, I sold mine for $1300 and I shot a lot of ammo out of it but it was well maintained. You never really know how many true rounds have been fired out of it.. they always lie but it doesn't really matter as long as the internals look great.

Thanks guys for the info. I work with the guy and just over heard him talking about selling and jumped on it. I thought it wasnt too bad. I know I paid more for my 6920 a few years back, but that was during the first Obama craze.

Agreed, but I'd have it cerecoated black the day after I bought it.

That silver doesn't do it for me, at all, but a beautiful gun all the same.

I understand the ban ended in 2004? Why do some of the LE colts have the "Restricted" stamps on them? Anyone interested in giving a brief history lesson for someone new to AR's (a.k.a. me)?

$1000!
Does he have another one!

Seriously, congrats and that is a stupidly good price.  Mine was $1300 + and I love it.

I am seeing fewer restricted marked rifles for sale so thats even better yet. I just paid $1100 shipped for a marked 6920 with magpul furniture and thougbt that was good buy. Damn, you did good.

I have a Colt LE6940 with the markings and I was thinking about selling it.
I put it for sale at a different website for $1350 and someone offered me $1300.
But it wasn't just the rifle, I also included this:

LE6940 with only 10 rounds thru it (for testing purposes the day I bought it 1/28/12) in its original box with everything that came with it.
500 rounds of Federal ammunition
40 rounds of Remington UMC hollow points
2 Stock aluminum magazines
5 pmags with window

The rifle is mint condition.
I'm having regrets about selling it and I haven't even sold it yet plus I feel like I'm giving it away.
What do you guys think? Should I go ahead and sell it? Or just hold on to it and use it?
Is my only AR

Thats a pretty good deal without the ammo and mags, even better with ammo and mags. If your really set on selling it I'd sell the rifle for 1300 but keep the ammo and mags, unless you just never plan on having another ar15 in your life.
