Anyways, doesn't really make that much of a difference - just an interesting combination of features I hadn't seen before, as I haven't really looked closely at the T-22. ~Augee |

I only used it once on some hand-me-down gear, a Surefire M900 grip light with a couple coats of Krylon. It took almost everything off in one pass and didn't harm the metal, plastic, or rubber. I did have to make one more pass with a cleaning brush on the more dynamic surfaces and angles. But Cleanstrip it potent so read the warning labels about ventilation and skin contact.. DannerTrax

Thoughts on removing a pinned Izzy Brake from a Bushmaster upper? I had a smith tell me it is a real pain in the ass to do without damaging the threads. I want to add a Free float rail but not sure its worth it to send out and have done.
The other thought was to add either a Magpull hand guard or a drop in DD EZ Car rail. Opinions? |

View Quote I have only done one so far. I guestimated the thickness of the FH and drilled ontop of the pin. Then extremely slowly I used a cutoff wheel on the dremel to slowly cut a notch into the FH to the depth I though it needed to be. Once i cut the FH in half on one side, I hammered a flat head into the cut and slowly unthreaded it. I did end up going a little too deep and cut into the tops of the threads at one point but I got lucky and the new FL installed perfectly. Its doable and I wouldn't hesitate doing it again but go slowly and keep trying it to avoid going to deep. Or do what I did on a subsequent build was bought a VLTOR CASV-EL and called it a day. Free floating and a nice handguard to boot. The DD EZCAR is a good rail too. Ran one for about a year. |
