As always, I'm thankful for my loving family and great friends, but I'm also thankful for finally completing my block 2. Now I can finally move onto something else. Also, props to the people who've provided parts guidance and great prices.

I stripped the paint from my rifle today to match an old CAR stock that I got. I was planning on repainting it later, but I kind of like the stripped paint hardcore teir 1 operator look right now

RIS II FSP owners... How are you all placing the rifle when you install and remove the FSP taper pins with the top portion of the rail in the way? I can't figure out a good strategy that won't damage the rail. Thanks.

I've also done it with the 6 bolts fully seated, which still works with my punches but they are at a slight angle so it's not 100 percent optimal but still easily doable. Then again I don't worry about scratching things.....

That way the carpet will avoid any damage to the rail, but enough sturdiness to pound in the taper pins. |

Can't stop shooting and admiring the block 2 even though she's a heavy bitch. The DD RIS 2 rail is nice, although I could do without the flathead screws that secure the lower portion.
Also, I can't get the damn RIS 2 rail to mount and center perfectly. It's always off by 1/16 of an inch on one side. Prior to mounting the lower portion, it's perfect. Once I screw it on, it shifts. It's pretty annoying. |

I had the same issue with my first RIS II. DD sent me a new hardware package including a new mount-up plate, which fixed the issue. Also make sure you tighten the bolts in a star pattern like lug nuts.

star pattern works if your hardware is in spec. I had to have a new plate sent to me as well on my most current ris ii.
What makes the install easy for me is to slap my irons on the gun, put it on a lower and put my laser bore sight in. I snug it up when the sights are good then tighten in a star pattern. Have never had to adjust windage since i started using this method and with the in spec parts the rail is nice and straight. |

Trying to stay as true to a clone build as I can, I wanted to verify that an aimpoint T1/T2 is a suitable optic. I know it's probably nitpicking but I guess I'm a stickler about it.

What ended being the problem for me was that the barrel nut wrench had slipped off the barrel nut during the install and gnarled up the slots for the teeth to grab. I filed Away any gnarling and lapped the face of the barrel nut. After that it lined up perfectly. |

I know it's probably nitpicking but I guess I'm a stickler about it. Thanks for the help guys. It's suitable, but I don't think its "correct." Just about anything has been seen in the wild, but if you want to be as true as possible you'd need to look into other options, (su231a, su-230, etc.) I don't frequent the Block II thread as much, but I've only seen a few T1s on CQBRs. I haven't really noticed them on the M4 URGs. T1s have been seen on block 1 and 2 M4A1s/CQBRs |
