How may of you are running no BUIS and 'medium' height rings on a MOD 1? I think the 'high' height rings look too high without a BUIS underneath.

Or do you find that the 'high' rings give you the proper eye height no matter what?

Thanks for the tip, Mattyvac! Did not know that. Still learning about these rifles.

For me, Medium also gives me a better cheekweld...but Highs are OK too.

Per facetubes on 16 July, they're moving to Nevada:

Just an update.
Heading over to the Nevada shop on Friday for a fire inspection. Hoping to hear from ATF shortly regarding their inspection of the new site. Hopefully I'll be up and running very soon.

Seems that Cali decided to not be bigger cockbreaths than they already are provided he leave?  Dunno.  Whatever.....they're moving to Nevada and will be back in production.  That's what matters I spose.

Speaking of, my gas block and upper receiver build kit is in.

Wrong thread, I know...but my 12.5 GLSSC upper is for sale.  Dont stroke out fellas.  Just a 12.5 colt 6920 upper.  Mention the mk12 thread and we can work a discount.

Wait, what? You have a DD GL/SSC FDE rail on an upper for sale?! I will take it if so.

Thanks, Engineer. I'll report back once I've taken it to the range and put a few down range.

Yeah, I'm excited about the NF, but I don't know how to really maximize its use, if you know what I'm saying. Wish I knew more about mil-dot and how to use. Yeah, I've read and watched videos on them, but still can't get it down. Last time at the range, I came across a former Devil Dog who knew what he was doing. We exchanged info and he said he'd teach me a few things about the scope and rifle as he had some experience with them.

My shooting skills are like my golf game - have all the right equipment and look good doing it, but can't play or shoot worth a shit. Gotta keep practicing, I guess.

I know that we say the .308 168grn leupold caps are similar to the MK262 load caps for the MK12 scopes, but what about M118 7.62 caps? Is the M118 close to the .308 168grn at all?

There won't be any available until my Nevada FFl and SOT are issued. The
state of California no longer allows for 3 transfers. I'm hoping to have the
new FFl/SOT by September.
RonA

They are quick to answer emails, so this is good news for people needing 12th model cans hurry up and wait until september...

I'm having troubles deciding on an optic for my Mod H project. My default plan is to go with a 3.5-10 MK4 like I've seen on ones in use or even a non-illuminated 2.5-8 MK4 (because they're cheaper). OTOH hand I've been eyeing a Nightforce 2.5-10 (in either the x24 or x32 type) since I was under the impression they are a better scope. I'm stuck between buying something more clone-correct and admittedly cheaper or spending a bit extra and having a better product. I'm leaning towards a clone-correct MK4 since my clone builds are typically more for having fun with at the range and I'm still a bit annoyed my Mod1 has an incorrect scope and mount, so I don't want to have a repeat of that. What would you guys do?

I sold a NF 2.5-10x24mm for a mk4 2.5-8 because the 2.5-8 was way better for low light shooting. And that's when I should most of the time

The 3.5-10 is more forgiving about that stuff? I've only used the 2.5-8 and looking at the two scopes on paper I wasn't sure the 3.5-10 was worth the extra money. I'd certainly like to give one a shot though. I think I'll try and convince myself to go with one.

M's.  It seems all the mod1's with fixed 10x or 3.5-10x's had the scopes pulled from other rifles, be it mod0 or m24.

PERFECTION

The medium rings look so much better than the high rings, probably better eye box for us non-giant faced people too

Aside from the pri rail I'd have to say there's no mk12 about that rifle. Not a bad looking spr but far from an mk12.

Looking for an a1 stock and a couple a1 grips if anyone has a lead or a spare.

Thanks guys

Are you looking for an original a1 stock, or new production?
