Drill it out enough to get the tip of the screw thin/loose enough that it will shear off and tap it off. Or drill it out taking the threads out with it and install a helicoil to repair the block.

Before I'd drill try this hack.  Don't scoff, should work.  Mix a bit of graphite powder and krazy glue and dab that in the screw head then poke the allen wrench in and let it set.  Before trying to unscrew it, I'd torch a little heat on it, just a bit, to loosen possible loktite, and then try to back it out.  Google the graphite and krazy glue tricks, they're awesome and they have worked for me.

Apologies if it’s been asked before but with how a lot of options have become unobtainium since this thread’s inception, what are some of the more attainable (and more affordable) clone-correct options for optic and mount for the Mod H? I finally managed to snag a Mod H Pri upper and though I know it’s not 100% correct I still want to put together a good build as the Mk12 had been a bucket list gun of mine for years and I feel I’m getting close to making that dream a reality finally.

Thank you for the input.

The Mark 5HD was the FDE military model and pictured with the 18 inch barrel. Closest we can get is probably part number 185068.

Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10x40's are all over the place it seems.  That with NFA110 or NFA107 depending on whether you're running a recce rail or not would be pretty easy and relatively affordable to procure.  Likely about half what you'd pay to go the Mark 5 route.

ETA:  If you want the real deal Premiere FFP version or the original Vari-X III that was used on the OG SPR, then yea those are more.  But mark 4 3.5-10 non-illum's pop up fairly regularly for around $1K-ish.

Hey guy's I'm looking to get my HCS Mk12 barrel milled for a Mod0 setscrew gasblock/front sight. I had ADCO do it before but they no longer will do it. My money is no good at PRI because it's not their barrel, said they can't be liable, whatever that means. Any ideas? I have an Email into d.wilson. but I think I've asked them before and was told they didn't offer that service.

Geissele triggers are correct. The original KAC triggers started to have some pretty serious issues and a lot of armorers swapped them with Geissele SSF triggers, which is the full auto equivalent of the SSA-E

Had a similar request (I think). Had an old style full address PRI flip up site but on an old style style base that would required milling a channel across the lower portion. Said he was to backed up with PW and typical work to take on custom work. Granted that as like a year and a few months ago.

Edit: Guess someone does do the work!

I'll get some more up soonish. Scope came in while I was working so quick mounted and took a couple pictures. I'll be taking it to zero in a weekend or two

Got my barrel machined this morning for the set-screw gas block.  Had to trim my collar back on the lathe because it was bottoming out on the gas block.

OK, I just finished reading this thread from cover to cover, and wow lots of great information!  I wrote all of my questions down and along the way found most of them were answered one by one.
The MOST frustrating thing about reading this was NOT being able to see any pictures from the first half of the thread due to pics being removed from their image hosting.

I started buying parts as early as 2002 but didn’t seriously consider converting my MK12 “inspired” SPR to a clone until last year.  I am thankful to have purchased certain parts early, but now realize I have missed out on so many deals and opportunities like a Pelican Case group buy, reproduced Mod 0/1 manuals, 2 bore guide group buys, hard to find ARMS parts / Leupold scopes that were much more plentiful when I started.  I did just recently get one of Stoner63’s TAS-1 replica slings, Thank you to Mr. A!

Anyways I’m finally approaching a finished rifle and feel like I have a post-worthy picture; here is the progress on my Late Mod 0. The rifle itself is as clone correct as it can be AFAIK, but definitely not period correct, and I still have to get my barrel KG coated before I finish assembly.  My AEM-5 has been ordered from Thoroughbred Armament and is awaiting Form 3 approval, so for the meantime I will use my Form1 can on a FCD KM12 brake. Any other suggestions will be appreciated!

Love it! And yeah, reading through these old posts really makes me wish I was a decade older than I am. I missed out on so much cool stuff cause I'm young. If you're still looking for the deployment kit stuff (manuals, hang tags, bore guides, cleaning rods, foam cutouts, etc.) ModernArmResources should be restocking a bunch of stuff soon. All his stuff is super high quality, can't recommend him enough.
