For HD close quarters, it's perfect. The CAR stock makes it difficult to get a good cheek weld while ADS, but I wanted this one to have shortest possible OAL and maneuverability. If I was going to use it for shooting 100 yards and beyond, the SOPMOD provides a more comfortable shooting position. |

Rifle shot 100% flawlessly but I did think it was over gassed compared to my other SBRs that have a .070 gas port. Ejection was at about 2:30-3:00 with Independence 5.56. Anyone use an H3 with this system? I'm kinda disappointed to find out this is already over gassed and will be worse with a suppressor on it. View Quote So I waited about 500 rounds before torture testing the rifle with heavier spring/buffer combos. No fresh lube, no cleaning, and old dirty suppressor ammo saved specifically to torture test. Ammo was a mix of high pressure IMI, Wolf Gold and PMC Bronze, in all various stages of filth and debris. I wanted to find the edge of reliability without a suppressor for this rifle. Here are my findings on a 1 of 1 non-scientific test. H3+blue spring = not reliable at least 25% of the time H3+carbine spring = about 1 failure every three mags. This got worse as lube started to dry up. H2+blue spring = about 1 failure every three mags. Also, saw about the same stoppage rate with fresh IMI 5.56 and dirty/dry gun. H2+carbine spring (factory setup)= runs like a champ no failures. This combo was used at the end of the test when the gun was at the most dirty/dry point. So in conclusion - Even though I feel it is slightly over-gassed relative to my other .070 gas port sbr barrels, Knights got the formula correct from the get go. Now it's time to throw the suppressor on it and zero it for HD use. |
