For years I've been a 16"-or-SBR AR kinda guy, but after an enjoyable 20" LMG AR build I'm thinking I might need to build my own version of a designated marksman AR. Thinking of keeping it all in the family and rolling with a Faxon Enhanced Upper, Faxon standard-weight BCG, and a Faxon bbl (I know I want 18", not sure if I want the GUNNER or the heavy fluted...). Question: when can we expect uppers to be back in stock?

[#1]
About a month or so. We are just getting them back into the machines after working to get caught up (and perhaps even ahead) on the ARAK-21.

Awesome, thanks for the update. Think there's a snowball's chance in hell that it'll be close to the same time that the 10.3 pencils are ready? That'd be epic...

Literally came in here to ask the SAME EXACT question. Glad to see I'm not alone! Cant wait to see them back in stock

i have no experience with faxons uppers, but i have used faxon bbls and bcgs and I think i'm gonna be able to build a rifle that is very accurate and sanely priced (compared to, say, larue etc.) with their upper/BCG/bbl combo. I'm certainly excited to try!

np, I have plenty of other projects going right now. I'm just 'ready' to get the upper/BCG/bbl for my DM build whenever you guys are ready. Gonna be awesome.
I do kinda wish you guys have a bbl profile that was between the GUNNER and the Heavy Fluted though. I'm looking for an 18" bbl and the GUNNER is 23oz and the Heavy flutted is 34.5oz. The GUNNER barrel has a great rep, but I'd like something just a bit heavier profile than that. Sort of a 'medium fluted' I guess. Hrrrrm. I dunno. Might just go with the GUNNER and give it a try to see how I like it. I would just get the heavy fluted, but 34.5oz is pretty hefty for this kind of build. Decisions decisions! ***edit*** I was browsing the PWD and comparing the weight of the Faxon heavy fluted vs some of the HBARs out there...and 34.5oz is a damn good weight by comparison. Think I'll go with that option. |

Rather than make another thread pertaining to this upper, I'd figure I'd ask here.
Is the weight listed for the enhanced upper include the forward assist and ejection cover? 6.88 Ounces, or is that only for the stripped upper? |
|
[#9]
I'm 99% sure that weight does not include the FA or port door, but I'll let Faxon be the final word on this one.

@RogueNathan
Any updates? Looks like you guys have been very very busy judging by the release of the new match line, but we need enhanced upper receivers to put our future match barrels in!!!! Specifically the 9" gunner profile 300 blackout and the 18" gunner profile 6.5 barrels that I know you guys are hiding Also, I'm going to need you guys to start making lower receivers please. |
|
[#12]
yeeaaah, definitely wishing I had known that the match bbls were coming out before I ordered my DMR barrel a couple of weeks ago. Guess I'll just have to shoot my regular fluted hbar out so I can upgrade. Still gonna need an upper and carrier in any event...

[#14]
gotta be getting close...my DMR build is starting to come together. Just need the Faxon enhanced upper and carrier...
|
|
[#15]
Hopefully! I've had the enhanced upper and enhanced light weight BCG on back order for what seems like forever!!! I have all my parts for my Faxon 11.5 build but need the upper and BCG
|
|
[#16]
Still patiently waiting. Anybody else notice the stripped bolts are gone, now you can only order(well, click on, cant order it if its out of stock) the complete BCG?
|
|
[#17]
Yeah, where are the carriers without bolts? I bought a bolt with my bbl thinking "np, I'll just buy a carrier later when they are available." Hopefully they will be back.

[#23]
yeah, it's starting to look like the only option will be to buy a complete BCG and use the bolt from it as a backup part?

Starting to wonder what's up. If Faxon isn't going to sell carriers separately anymore, I'm fine with it...I can always use a spare bolt (just gonna buy a complete one)....but I need the enhanced upper. Any idea what the hold up is @RogueNathan ??

ETA on enhanced light weight BCG???
I few more weeks for enhanced uppers . |

Me too. I'm in for one once they roll out, I already moved on a couple nitride BCG's that I'll use for now with the matched bolt, and can rotate out for spares if I find myself in the mood for an enhanced BCG down the road. But I'm seriously in need of one enhanced upper.... maybe two if I can swing the cost. View Quote |

Gotta be getting closer. I need enhanced faxon uppers to compliment some very enhanced builds in the near future.

@RogueNathan
Got any news on these coming soon? I'm getting antsy to have my parts bin full and shopping list complete |
|
[#34]
must...finish....(cough)....DMR...(couch, hack)...build. Must...
|
|
[#36]
WOOHOOO! I knew there was a reason this popped back into my head today. Now to refresh ever dealers sight I can think of, and the faxon site, on an hourly basis until one shows in stock or their sites crash!!!

I'm striking out, but I did notice Faxon has changed the stocking on their site to remove the "complete" upper kit and now only shows the stripped kit. Hopefully that means somebody is updating to list the complete kit back in stock... one can only hope |
|
[#38]
no, but I haven't really been looking all over the www either. I have a 'alert me when it's back in stock' thingy on the Faxon homepage...I usually just order everything from them direct, and planned to do that again in this case. Hopefully not ALL of them went to distributors...

checked brownells, Midway, primary, and ranier and am not seeing any uppers at all...so I'm not sure who the distributors are. I'm sure there is a list on the faxon site...hmmmm...
speaking of the Faxon site, I see the enhanced upper there...was it not on the www at some point? |

Yeah, we're starting to approach Magpul UBR 2 levels of delays here. It's definitely a bummer. It's there only part left to buy for my DMR build.
The strangest thing about it is that everyone says that gun sales are way down post election... You would think that would help get product back in stock, and yet here we are. |
