LINK about the T2 for the google-impaired.
Yeah, this will be great for the price of T1s (sadly, even if these come in and SELL at an MSRP of like $700-$800). I'm really hoping these go for $600-$650 and the T1s drop down to H1 prices, etc. I'll be the first in line for a Larue T2-LT660 Combo at $684.95. ;o) -- While I like the idea of increased clarity, I have this unscientific view that the tint actually helps me get on target faster...it's like the filled-in blue-ish circle serves the same purpose as the 65MOA red outline for EOtechs and gets me on target faster. I also think having the edges extended to mount lens covers probably helps negate the need for them a bit, but having the option is still nice. Finally, I suppose more ruggedness is better (though when you have something as tough as the T1, I suspect there are diminishing returns based on the price point...like with, as I'm told, wines). |

If they keep the T1 and drop the price a good bit, I'd honestly would probably keep getting T1s.

You'd be a moron to dump a T1 for the T2. Only real upgrade are the flip covers which an IO cover takes care of. Aimpoint should upgrade the T1, not come out with a new model.

I want to get a third T1 to replace my M4S, but I'll go for the T2 if there's a very minimal price difference. I agree that it should replace the T1 instead of being offered as an additional model. I wouldn't pay much more for it. The only real appeal to me is the ability to use a killflash.

View Quote I'd personally dump a T1 for a T2 if I had one. Now, 6... that would be hard to do. The real upgrade in my eyes is the on the fly windage and elevation adjustment. No more proprietary tool |

To all the skeptics that maintain the T2 just isn't that much different than the T1, I've a sample of 1 that doesn't look all that different from my 3 H1s.
(Other than the obvious top "enhancements" fore/aft of the elevation adjustment cap & the cut flippy lens covers.) However comma where it shines to me is in front of an Aimpoint 3X magnifier - the H1s dot definitely turns into a (very) short, diagonal line when viewed through the 3X. All three H1s do this. The T2 stays a very crisp DOT. No distortions at all. None, nada. Zip, Zilch. At first, I'd brushed the morphed line off as my own astigmatism(s), but the T2 dispels that. My humble opinion, worth what you paid for it... |

No kidding LOL, ok! The whole "T2 cleans up the magnified dot" is pure marketing genius from Aimpoint. Want proof? To jukeboxx and everyone else preaching the gospel of the T2 dot, go take a digital photo of your T1 or H1 dot and report back. I 100% guarantee you that it is a perfect DOT. |

Yea been there done that about taking a pic of the T1 dot. The reviews I have seen and read are from random people as well which have no gain from giving postive info for Aimpoint.
Have you guys seen one in person? If not then dont assume its not what they say until you do, simple as that. |

Can't saying anything about the T2, but the T1 flared significantly for me with a 3x (Aimpoint brand, not a cheapo), so bad that I sold the 3x. Eventually sold the T1 as well and moved to an ACOG b/c of astigmatism, but would like try it one again on a lightweight build - so may pick up a T2. Price difference between the h1/t1/t2 is slight enough that while the H1 would probably be fine, it's not that much more to grab the newer T2 realistically. Still mulling it over, really.

View Quote So I picked up a T2, it does seem clearer than the T1 going from memory, still can blur a bit with my contacts, looking past the dot seems to wrok though. My single vision glasses do fine since I have correction in them. Still, a buddy let me borrow his Comp M4, thinking I might like it better due to FOV. It's heavier though, of course. |
