Here's a review of our CDI rifle. Please note one bit of mis-information in the article. It states that the rifle has a mid-length gas system. It is actually a normal carbine length system.

Looks like the 1/9 stablized the 79 grain very well at 100 yards.

I may try some 75 gr. my next trip to the range... to bad it's only 25 yards though.

That's surprising to me. I have tried 75 grain in a 1/9 and the accuracy was not very good which is what I expected

What is the notch in the barrel, right in front of the end of the forend, used for? Not the notch cut in the barrel at the flash hider, the one right behind that one? It seems like most of the barrels have it, but I've never seen a purpose? Is that where the M203 is supposed to connect to ?

yes that cut in the barrel is for mounting the M203. the barrels with that cut is what is commonly called the M4 barrel.
