The B&K 2209 was the meter that was able to react fast enough at the time that the Mil-STD was being created. The standard has not been updated since then so we called up B&K and asked what the best meter on the market was that would give us the same reading. They told us to use our current meter which is a B&K 2270. The great thing about this meter is that it can handle dual microphones and record the data and then upload to a PC. This is helpful because you don't have to reset the meter in between each shot. So we run two mics one for the end of the silencer and one for the shooters ear. We upgraded the mics also to be able to hit the high 170's.
