Short story long, I patiently waited to be able to afford my first Geissele rail. In order to do so, I bastardized one of my prized possessions. My factory Noveske upper built while John was still alive. I wanted a longer rail than the 11" Noveske / SWS rail that came on it. So after searching forever for the special barrel nut wrench, I finally found it and sold off my rail to buy a beautiful new Mk8.
Fast forward to tonight. I received the rail today and began to excitingly assemble it on to my upper receiver and then......
I had no idea that the Noveske-marked VLTOR MUR uppers were different profile at the front and there was no * on Geissele's website warning me of this compatibility issue.
Should I mill the anti-rotational tabs to accommodate the wider upper receiver profile? I hate to do that because my 'smith isn't cheap, especially for shop work like that.
