The first triggers are standard
I think it's compatible with the plate. We have a Rifle Dynamics gun that has a plate and it works good |

Just got my AKTion contest trigger...wow. The trigger pull is REALLY ~3.5 lbs (less than a stock AR trigger like the QMS) or so with ABSOLUTELY NO overtravel and VERY LITTLE pre-travel.
The AKT drops right into the Yugo M85 without any modification, but the spiral pin needs to be used to achieve the proper safety clearance or else the trigger will fire on safe. Observations: With the spiral pin ALL the way in, the safety has JUST enough room to become 'safe' and the trigger finally does not release the hammer. When the rifle is safe, there is maybe 1MM of play in the trigger and it is basically solid- it does not move at all when it safe mode like the old imported trigger did. The safety is removable from the rifle without the diconnector removed. On my old imported trigger that came with the Yugo- you would need to remove the dosconnector in order to remove the safety. Now with the AKT the safety can be removed without touching the trigger group at all when installed. I dont know if this is a good or bad thing?? When the top cover of the Yugo is closed, the safety does not go past the safe position and is not able to be removed unless you lift it up away from the receiver and move it over the top cover....again not sure if this is a good thing or not? ETA: Apparently this is normal for an AK..where the safety is removable without removing anything else Initially I was not able to charge the rifle with the trigger in 'SAFE' mode. The bolt carrier would only move back about 1-2" before stopping on something in the trigger. I charged the rifle a few times on 'FIRE' mode and then I was finally able to charge it on 'SAFE" mode where the charging handle nub hits the front of the safety...again- not sure what was going on here but I believe it is working now given that the bolt carrier is able to be charged all the way to the front of the safety lever. The function test ran fine, and the hammer does not fall if you release the bolt from the rear while the trigger is pulled- similar function test to the AR-15 and it works just the same.... Thoughts, anyone? |

Can the AK be charged in SAFE? The Safety lever blocks the carrier from coming backwards.

I was a contest winner as well, in a different thread. My AKG pkg is waiting for me in my mailbox, I will be installing this on a milled bulgarian SLR-95

Thoughts, anyone? View Quote Its normal. When the hammer isn't cocked and you have the gun on safe and you try to pull the bolt carrier back it won't because the safety lever has a bar that hits the trigger ears behind the disconnecter when in the safe position. This prevents a trigger from moving and releasing the trigger hooks from the hammer ears. Now when you pull the charging handle you're also pushing the hammer down, the hammer ears ride on trigger hooks and move them forward so the hammer can slide down into the trigger hooks. But since its on safe the hammer is pushing down on the trigger hooks but can't push them out of the way because of the safety bar across the trigger behind the disconnecter. Now if you charge the weapon normally and the hammer is resting in the trigger hooks like normal and then you put it back on safe then there is nothing preventing the bolt carrier from sliding as far back as possible because the hammer is already out of the way. Take off the top cover, pull the trigger to release the hammer, put it in safe and rack the charging handle and look at the trigger mech, then take it off safe, charge it, then put it back in safe and you'll see it better than I can explain lol. |

My AKT came in yesterday. Installed per instructions and immediately was having reset issues. I removed the trigger and noticed a bur on the hammer causing it to hang up. After dry firing 150-200 times the reset issue was no longer an issue. Unfortunately when I took it to the range, I was getting doubles within the first magazine.
In the manual it states that ALG does not guarantee that the trigger will work in all AK receivers since there are so many different types so I understand this may be the case. Or maybe I just got a lemon? The receiver is an Elk River and was built by Rifle Dynamics in Vegas for anyone that is interested. I'll call ALG tomorrow to see what they say. |

One thing to watch on reset is the mainspring tension. We have seen mainsprings that are so light they will not pull the disconnector off the hammer. The solution is to bend the legs of the mainspring down to get some more tension on the trigger.
If you pull the trigger and recock the hammer so its held by the disconnector and then slowly release the trigger does the trigger catch the hammer when the disconnector releases it? If it does the gun may be bump firing and a weak return on the trigger may be making this happen. ALG will have a replacement mainspring in the next month or so. |

I just tried dry firing again, and out of about 20 times, the disconnector didn't release the hammer one time. Regarding the hammer not catching and striking the firing pin causing doubling, I'm assuming it's a tolerance stacking issue. My receiver isnt very common as far as I know. |

If the function ck proves out I'll put money that the gun is being bump fired. This trigger is VERY easy to bump fire.
I don't think it's the receiver Make sure to hold the weapon tight with muscle tension, pull it into your shoulder and pull the trigger directly with out feathering. |

You guys produce the best triggers available so I either got a dud or something of mine is probably out of spec. Thank you for the quick responses, let alone on a Sunday! ETA: Bill and the crew are taking awesome care of me. Top notch customer service |

FYI
These like the tapco single hook FCGs will not work on Nodakspud NDS 3 receivers. I tried it and the trigger slot is cut too long for the FCGs to work. For it to work the receiver will need to be modified. |

Bill says he cannot say what guns the AKT will fit. I am anxiously waiting for someone to install one on a Zastava PAP M85NP 5.56 AK Pistol with AR15 Magazine Adapter made by CAI. It's a great little pistol, with a not so good trigger. I have a Tapco G2 trigger in it now that is barely better than stock. I am hoping this AKT will fit. If anyone tries one with this pistol please post how it goes.I love my Geissele SSA trigger in my AR. If the AKT is half as nice, I will be happy. I hope someone here has a PAP M85NP and buys this trigger. Looking forward to the results. Money is tight right now or I would have pre-ordered the trigger.

Bill and Charlie took care of me regarding the trigger issues. Apparently everything was caused by a weak spring (Romanian origin) and they are sending the rifle back on their dime!
Geissele (ALG as well) has my business for life for as long as their doors are open. |

Works great in my M92 Pap. Needed the rollpin but test fired today. Great trigger!

Anybody tried this trigger with the Damage Industries hammer spring yet?
If so, can you advise whether or not it increases or decreases pull weight vs. the factory spring? http://damageindustriesllc.com/sites/damageindustriesllc.com/files/14111_0.jpg |

Much obliged, Hammer View Quote You can call them to get on the list for the AKE, ive been on it since 3/24 (was told it would be out April/May but "could be sooner") So dont hold your breath. AKT first run is already out and gone. You can get on an email notification here Brownells also sells them (but are out too) They mentioned 7/3 a summer sale coming up "in a couple of weeks"..but their timelines are Hold tight, there will be more soon enough...its obviously a popular product they will make more of. |

I just got mine from what I believe is the second wave of AKTs shipping out. Short pull so it's going to be great.
What would be even better is a coil pin for over travel that you could fit as well. Then you could have a really super fast trigger then. :) But it's really great as is and I can't wait to get out and try it live. |

Just finished installing the AKT in my arsenal sgl-21 with Krebs safety. It required the roll pin and some fitting but was a super easy install.
I also have a tromix s17 that has the SRT(tromix short reset trigger). This AKT is very similar to the SRT in pretravel, weight and over travel.Which says a lot considering, until this point ,the SRT is the best ak trigger I have ever felt. However, the lightning bow makes it SOOO much better since the SRT is a customized G2 that Tony Rumors does. This trigger is definitely a winner. |

Sagmill,
Are you still planning on including a trigger spring for a heavier trigger pull? |
|
[#37]
At this point... I'm not even sure if I placed my order for two enhanced triggers or if I'm making up a false memory of doing so months ago. Maybe I should just call and ask just in case...

yes,
our new High Energy chrome silicon Mainspring will also raise the pull a bit |

Just installed the akt in my pap92 krink clone. Reset is better that factory (my rifle was slow to reset, they again I probably forgot to lube it before the first time I shot it). Also the trigger is light without being too light. Only thing I wish was a more discernible break point.

I see the AKT is actually available on the ALG site now, no more presale.

Any ETA on the AKT-E? I'd like to pick up a couple AK triggers, probably one of each. What will the price of the E be like vs the standard?

Any updates on the AKT-E? Is it vaporware? It would be helpful to get an estimate on the release date. Even if its going to be sometime next year. I would love to know something. I don't like the thought of my credit card info being written down on a piece of paper on someone's desk for MONTHS. The last time I gave someone my CC # over the phone, I got hit with a $950 charge from a grocery store in Chicago. |
