For folks that haven't signed up for ALG Defense or Geissele Facebook and Instagram updates, not sure why you wouldn't, here is a teaser photo of the new Sidewinder brake and EMR V2...
I've been getting messages about whether this is worth the upgrade to the V2. Short answer is YES. So for folks looking for a reason to upgrade, how about you migrate that EMR V1 over to your significant other's gun. Don't have a SO? Well, you're just going to have to work on your game aren't you? |
|
[#3]
I don't FB, and for a company to rely only on social media to get the word out is shortsighted. What's the difference between v1 and v2?

Figures... I literally just built a rifle with the V1 and the lack of a full top rail or rail sections at the front and back was my only issue with it. Does the V2 use the same barrel nut?
|
|
[#6]
It does use the same barrel nut so you it should be a fairly easy task of swapping it out.

RXM while I am happy to see you bringing the rail I wanted to market I am kind of annoyed when I asked you about such a rail ever being available you told me to buy an SMR if I wanted a top rail. So I finally broke down and bought the EMR- MLOK a couple weeks back.

It doesn't have a full top rail. Italian_Princess will be posting pictures in a new thread soon

You guys need to bug Sagmill a little harder for a .308 rail in the DPMS pattern. I can only do so much on my end... |

Please consider making 11” and 14” versions of the V2. 11.5” and 14.5” barrel lengths are insanely popular and rails that terminate at the shoulder of the muzzle threads are so much better. |

Except that they can get REALLY hot and that makes holding it uncomfortable. Also, depending on how much suppressor sits under the rail, you may not have the option to run the gun without it. I'd rather have rail lengths which will end with ~1/4"-1/2" barrel exposed (not including the threads) for popular barrel lengths, so that it doesn't interfere with mounts. |

What lengths are going to be offered for the V2, and is there an ETA? I've been checking the website regularly.
I'm hoping a 12" will be in the cards, but an 11" or 13" would work in a pinch. (EDIT) - OK, I just saw a blog entry that indicated 12" is planned. Great! |
