Already got shipping info for my order. Thanks again for doing these. I really appreciate the time and effort it took. Dont take it as too discouraging that you didn't sell out, you're helping a bunch of people out.

I grabbed one for my MOD H, but might grab another while they are in stock just for a rainy day. I was thinking they were gonna be gone fast as well and wanted others to have the chance to get one before I grabbed a spare.

I can’t imagine these will last longer than a week.
Shit, for years now it’s been harder to get the correct stock for an H than getting the can. Thanks for doing these! |

Think I’ll put the money towards a Mod H upper next month instead of another stock though. Trying to ensure the pattern on the can from the Mod 0 paint job matches up with the H when it’s done is going to be quite annoying |

I bought one to replace the worn out gen 1 on my H. Thanks for doing this and for the gussets. It's a little frustrating that these are not going to sell out, will sit on shelves for a minute, and then when they're gone everyone will want one and the regular suspects will be selling them for $400.

Thanks for all the support guys, it means a lot. The orders are still trickling in, hopefully this batch will be gone by Monday. I’ll continue to post updates as the remaining stocks get back from anodize and get assembled.
Thanks, Jesse |

Thanks, Jesse As soon as we get them and post about them in the clone groups they'll be gone. Agreed. Not sure where JTD advertised these besides this thread, as I'm not really active on any social media beyond some gun forums and a couple optics/NV sale groups on FB, but once the build pics start getting posted and the "where did you get that?!?" questions start getting answered, I imagine the others will be sold in short order. |
This is literally the first part for one of these builds I've purchased. Gonna be a slow (and expensive) road, but I couldn't pass it up.

I'm shocked they didn't sell out instantly. Got one ordered and shipped in less than 12 hours yesterday. Beautiful.

I'm glad everyone is satisfied with the run. I like the way the locking notches came out on this batch, this is probably how we should have originally fixed the issue. The current Gen 4 lock is still stronger than this version Gen 3, but I believe this will eliminate the majority of the locking failures we had with the original Gen 3.
We did a few social media posts about the release, and posted a couple of other places about the release, but we didn't go full out since we only had a partial shipment. That probably wasn't the correct thing to do, but I wanted to make sure that the initial response here had the first crack at them. Thanks, Jesse |

Thanks, Jesse View Quote I've been playing with the stock since it arrived last Friday. I've never handled one before, but it feels very stout. I was expecting it to be light, like the polymer 2pos commando stocks, but this should balance out an H with the suppressor on pretty well. The adjustments feel smooth and solid with zero play once locked in. What's the tape trick folks are talking about to ensure it doesn't come loose? I'm not seeing how it would come loose due to the little nub on the bottom that would interact with the receiver underneath the female threads for buffer tube, but I'm always happy to learn something I didn't know before. |
Occasionally when the buffer tube is installed, there may be a bit of play in the threads due to tolerances. Bob Weir always recommended using plumber's tape on the thread if there was any movement. Typically even without tape, if you keep constant pressure forward on the gusset as you tighten the screw, that takes care of any wiggle. If you don't keep pressure on the gusset as you fully tighten the screw down, it will slide back just enough to give the wiggle. That was one of the reasons why we switched to the wider castle nut and end plate, it gave added support and was better understood by the consumers.
Thanks, Jesse |

We'll see how it goes when the H&R M16A1 blem shows up this week or next. |

The foam pad on the tube will move around. You can pull it towards the rear gently (if you squeeze the foam tube it will constrict and grab the buffer tube), or blow some compressed air between the foam and buffer tube and it will move easily.
Jesse |
I was able to get it to move prior. Thanks for the info. The length is correct then?
There are two length foam tubes for SOCOM stocks, the standard and the ones for the L model (about 2" longer). There are also a thick and a thin side on the foam (the wall thickness), the thick side goes towards the rear. If you see a SOCOM that's dragging on the charging handle a bit, odds are the foam is installed backwards.
