I used two screws, to eliminate any rotational play. Backing plate is the one that came with the hand guard. I cut down the excess material, drilled and tapped for second 10/32 screw. The hand stop is original length. Only thing removed was some material off the top where it's supposed grab on to rails. Was fairly easy task, just took my time not to mess it up. The only thing bugging me is the aluminum screws I used. I've been meaning to replace them with something more tacticool. For the time being, it works.

I like the work you did and how you bolted it up, I too would want something besides those shiny screws, perhaps some taticool black paint.I don't think you can find flat head screws that use an allen wrench.
I don't know if you have thought about this, but a police armorer showed me a little trick, when it comes to little screws like that, that are non critical. Substitute locktite with clear nail polish, it will hold screws from backing out, that are not under lots of stress and comes out easy enough.
