The new barrel line touted at shot, ETA?
|
|
Also curious to know.
I have an A2 upper with a 1/12 twist light weight barrel. Love the upper but don't like being stuck with 55 grain ammo. Was contemplating sending a 1/7 A2 to ADCO, but if your barrels are going to be 1/9 or 1/7 chromelined, I would be happy to buy from you.

......Bueller? Just like the email I sent asking about the defective stock I sent back for exchange over two weeks ago...........nothing.

When will the 1/12 barrels be restocked? View Quote To clarify, you are referring to 100-016-584 correct? If that is the case it appears that we are waiting for many of these to arrive in house and should be here any time now though we cannot promise an exact date. Thank you so much! |

In an attempt to cover all questions listed above, please see below...and again, sorry for the delayed response.
The first barrel from the new line is out, but the first few sold out quickly. For future reference this one can be located here: http://bit.ly/1Mza65L There are two others coming to market that are not on the web just yet but you can call in and order. 100-016-582 AR15 16" 5.56 GOVT MID CHROME 1-7 100-016-583 AR15 10.5" 5.56 GOVT CAR CHROME 1-7 The M16A1 barrel listed above is 1-12. If these sell well, we are going to consider a 1-7 in this profile. |

Are you guys considering a 1/12 16" LW carbine barrel after coming out with the 1/12 20" LW barrel?
If not, any update on whether or not you are going to do a 1/7 20" LW barrel? |

In reference to this barrel, one of your answers to a question was "5/6/2015, Our current stock of A1 barrels do in fact have the taller, "F-marked" front sight base. However, we are working to have our future stock come with non-F-marked front sight bases." Any idea when this this will take place? The "F" marked FSB is the only thing preventing me from buying one of these barrels. |

Yes, we are working on adding a 1-12 16” Lightweight barrel, as well as 14.7” & 11.5”. The 20” 1-7 is also in the works, one version available with the FSB & one stripped.

This will be on our next run of barrels, which will likely be in another month or two.

Great! Thanks for the update. Will these non F marked models have a different part number? How can we insure that we get the right barrel when ordering?

We will update the copy and product description when the new barrels arrive, explicitly calling out the standard FSB. :)

IMHO this is exactly what the retro guys want. Exact copies of retro barrels down to the T (1/12 twist, standard feed ramps, standard FSB, chrome bore, chrome chamber). Without M4 feed ramps F marked sights 1/7 twists all that modern stuff. There might even be a niche in having non chrome bores but chrome chambers and non chrome through and through. For early retro variety
I will get one or two if they materialize. Brownells Do you have any ETA? |
|
We’re a few months out on revised & additional barrels. In addition to having the standard front sight post and the other proper features you mentioned, we are sourcing a flat delta ring as well, which will come installed on future barrels. Keep an eye out for this new offering this Fall.

Holy crap I just now saw this thread. Where have I been? Placing one of these bad boys on backorder!
I have a green mountain A1 that was going on a build but now will be using this barrel since it has the standard feed ramps vs. the green mountains M4 ramps! |

Thank you for the response. That will give me time to save for a lafrance twin gas tube and collect the other small parts I will need. Will these come with the bayonet lug removed and forge flashing removed from the barrels ? If not no big deal. I can't wait. I think you guys will be the only people selling a barrel with a carbine length gas system and rifle barrel extensions. I'm sure they will sell quick. I need 2 |

These are now back in stock for all that have been so patiently waiting! Find them located here: http://bit.ly/212hDi8 View Quote Funny. I placed a backorder for one of these on 10/05/15. It is now 12/1/15. I have still not received my order for this barrel even though it went instock and is now out of stock again. I was also charged $74.99 for an A.R.M.S. mount on the same order that I have yet to receive. I called ARMS about two weeks ago to inquire about it, since it was a drop ship item. They informed me this mount is on permanent backorder until they receive 250 orders for it to complete a run. He said currently they had about 18 orders for that item and were considering dropping it from the catalog. He said that brownells should not have charged my card for this item since it was on backorder. I've contacted customer service about this order 2 times via chat and once via a phone call. I was told each time that someone from your company would contact me back. I have yet to hear from anyone. Its been weeks now. ETA: Order number 11708173 ETA#2: UPDATE: Customer service gave me a call after seeing this post. Getting a refund on my A.R.M.S. mount and cancelling the order that never shipped. According to them the A1 barrels were never actually in stock and that was an inventory mistake saying that they never received them from the supplier. Thanks for contacting me back. All I really wanted was to be told what was going on after I had contacted customer service 3 times and kept getting told I would be contacted and no one did. Looks like Arfcom comes though again! So any ETA on the real shipment of A1 barrels? |

Just checking in on the 12.7" barrels to see if the timeline on these is still shot show. Also , a heads up in the retro forum would be great a day or two before they are released for sale if you could !!
|
|
Got my barrel in the other day. Looks great. The flat delta ring was a nice touch. Hopefully it shoots as good as it looks! Only minor issue I see retro guys having is the front sight gas block appears to be a shiny black color, like melonited or something. I think the originals were parkerized. Small issue.

Any chance we could get a look at the 12.7"? Just wondering if the profile is like the Colt 11.5" or the 14.5"? I know the retro crowd likes the 1/12 but any chance we might see these in 1/7 eventually?
Exportable? |

Profile is going to be lightweight , both 11.5 and 14.5 have the same profile on the lightweight barrels. These barrels are being made without m4 feed ramps or F marked FSB for retro builds. The profiles are not the same forward of the FSB. A Colt 11.5" steps down to .615" and stays straight to the muzzle. A 14.5" is turned down to .570 or so and then flares back out at the muzzle to .615" or somewhere around there. Most manufacturers of 11.5" barrels don't copy Colt and seem to prefer using the same profile as a 14.5". The reason that I ask is because the straight profile will be more correct for a XM or GAU clone but a 12.7" with a flare at the end would be perfect for anyone attempting an IDF Menusar clone. |
