At low power, you can see a faint ghosting of the front sight, unless you focus on or obsess about it will not be noticed. I always use the low settings with both eyes open, and focus on the reticule, and do not even notice the faint front sight tower.

Has anyone tried this on a .308 boltgun? Thinking about picking this up for my Ruger Scout... (XS sight rail will allow me to mount it in a traditional manner).

Does anyone make a quick throw lever for the PA 1x4? I have searched but I can't find one.
Thanks |

And I was just hoping for a more affordable qd mount, cause for a 22 I don't really want to spend $60 or more on just a mount but yes, any would work. Thanks for clarifying the cat tail part |

I just had to swing by again and say that I'm still in love with my PA 1-4x. I have been using it for a few months now and I've liked it from day 1, but it just gets better and better. I was extremely happy with its performance because it stayed extremely clear and bright even on a cloudy, humid, drizzling day, and I never had to touch the illumination because the reticle stayed crisp and fog wasn't an issue whatsoever. Side-by-side with my Burris Tac30, I actually like the PA glass better, and believe it or not, the clicks and turrets are better too. All that at a third of the price. Awesome. I wish it had the Burris reticle, but I don't have any complaints about the PA reticle either. http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/584/imag1771.jpg I was actually able to get my best groups to date out of my S&W M&P 15-22 with the PA 1-4x, despite the crappy weather. Thanks for bringing such a quality piece of kit to us at a great price. Quoted:

I ordered it from "three gun gear.com" I think? I had to get the Burris model I think, but it fits! I've had it for a while now and have never had any issues with it. I want a LaRue mount for it one day and have found that using a MaTech BUIS it will actually clear the scope because it's so lo-profile. I hope this helps.

Anybody use one of these mounted to a carry handle on an AR? Thinking about one for my Bushmaster C7 upper.

Just to make sure everyone knows: the older PA scopes had the same power adjustment ring as the Millet DMS scope so
the cattail for the Millet would work. The newer PA scopes have a different ring so the Millet style cattail will not fit the PA scope now. ARKAR |

|
The older style has raised "points" for gripping the ring, while the newer style has raised "flats" for grip. Look at the picture posted above with the cattail and compare it
to the one posted on down. Not easy to tell but look closely. I don't own one of these scopes, but I remember it being discussed when they changed. ARKAR |

Does this model have an "auto off" feature?
What is the battery life? |

Does this model have an "auto off" feature? What is the battery life? While the illumination can be seen against a dark background the illumination is for low light so no auto cutoff. Maybe 200 hours but again just use the black reticle during the day and battery life is not a issue. . |

Ok I've got a question about the 1-4x. I just got one this week and mounted it on a Warne RAMP mount. Plan to use this set up for 3Gun.
Looking at the reticle, I see the dot and a small space. Below that is a thinner line, not very long to a wider line. My question is, has anyone zeroed their scope using the dot at a 100 yards and then used that jucition where the thinner line meets the thicker line for POA at 100 yards and seen how much higher your POI is? I'm wonder if that jucition could be used for a 200 yard or maybe a 300 yard hold over. I plan to zero this optic next weekend and will report back my results using the the above jucition for a holder. Anyone at PA that reads this, please stop putting those cheap scope covers on this optic! The first time I took it out of the box I didn't noticed the front cover just slid off and I stepped on it. Of course it broke and put a bad taste in my mouth for this optic. After looking through it for an extended period of time and doing a side by side with an ACOG put me at ease with that optic just not those covers. |

I would also like to know the measurements of the sight lines in this scope. I think it could be a big help in distance shooting.

I know after a week out you probably still can't find your desk - this is just a reminder for when you get a free minute. I was shooting a .338Lupua at 500yards at about a 3 foot square chunk of steel and making good hits. I then tried my AR and used where the sight thickens to hold at the top edge of the steel and was told I had a few hits - probably just luck from sloppy shooting but curious what that measurement would be.
Thanks, Jack Quoted:

I'm really wanting to go with this scope on my converted Saiga AK 7.62, but haven't seen a single one mounted on an AK rifle. I like the MI AK Side mount rail, but I am also considering the parabellum armanent rail. (like tws dogleg). Does anyone recommend a mount that will work with an AK? I am wondering if it will be far enough forward to get my eye near the back of the receiver closely, kind of like if an ak had NTCH? Will a forward type mount work with either rail mount and still clear the rear sight? If I go with either rail, will I need a set of rings or should I get a mount like the PA Extended? https://a248.e.akamai.net/origin-cdn.volusion.com/pknwg.xycut/v/vspfiles/photos/PA-001-2T.jpg?1341217153 OR https://4b1e874935ea5d25a97e-f099844d0e354c7ab50c55a966be6870.ssl.cf2.rackcdn.com/product/resized/XMIAKSM.jpg OR http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/images/products/ak30sm.gif Surprised no AK people chimed in. The eye relief on this one and most is a little long for AK mounts. |

Should I be able to use a QRP2 with this scope? I would *think* so given that it's a 30 mm tube and the QRP2 is for the 30mm aimpoint tube, but it would only be holding it directly behind the adjustment turrets, I figure...
Just wondering if it'll work because if it would I'll save up some $$$ over the next couple months and pick one up. I need something for my 300 Blackout SBR upper as the 5X/Aimpoint PRO combo just isn't working with my eyes... Either the dot is fairly clear and the target is *blurry*, or the target is clear and I've got a "double dot with one that's a "ghost image" and the other that's half-way decent looking (but a lot bigger than 2 moa). ETA: Or, use my larue LT129 mount instead of a QRP2 mount. |

I'm too lazy to read and couldn't figure out what to search for, but is the 1x a true 1x? Everything similar I've looked at has been closer to 1.5x or, on the Burris... Burrises... Burri? Whatever they are, they were slightly wider than 1x, something like .9x. Anything other than 1x messes with my brain when trying to shoot up close and personal since I try to use it like a red dot.

I can see it with illumination off and be very fast and drive the gun and big horse shoe much easier then I can with a red dot http://youtu.be/k5bk8R8Pnhs Dimitri |
