That was my guess as to what the issue was too, but the problem with these two I was sent (maybe just the same one twice?) was that I could see that streak in any light, even outdoors in low morning light...and it wasn't just the streak in the photos as I noted, but everywhere above/left of the streak was tinted red as well. When I asked about what was going on, I didn't get any answers other than "Have you ever used a red dot before?" and "It's normal to do that." I picked up a Sparc now for the .22, and it has no issue at all when looking through it. Oh well. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

There is a tradeoff with more tinting to cut down on reflection and less tint for a clear view. In use looking straight on not holding it at a angle you see very little if any, and quickly tune it out. If you are not happy with them I will gladly take them back. |

So I finally got to take the red dot out and give it a run. I zeroed it the day before(Saturday) quickly for 50/300 yards due to strong winds. Probably spent less than 30 minutes.
I take it to my lease today(sunday), started by putting a handful of rounds down range just shooting paper freestanding at around 50 yards. Cool, center mass. The quick zero did its job. I wanted to see how on I was so I put a few shotgun clays out at 25 yards and was able to take those out consistently. I then put some steel at 100 and smacked that for a bit. I then wanted to see if it would hold that zero running the rifle hard for a few mags. I sent about 120 rounds down range with various fire rates and found the dot still held zero nicely. I had to really stretch it's legs then. There is a steel plate painted white at 400 yards down the river from where I had setup. I've never shot the rifle used with the red dot to shoot anything more than 100 yards FYI. I had to turn the brightness down to about 3 to be able to see the steel and red dot. It looked as if the red dot was almost transparent over the steel to give you an idea. There was a table so I was able to rest and get a steady picture and sight on the steel. I put the dot on target and sent it. Slight low right. Adjusted quickly and sent another.....PING! The awesome sound of that report. I followed up and sent the rest of the 30 round magazine and was tearin that plate up! Needless to say I'm very happy with this dot and it had more than exceeded it's expectations. Rich |

My mini critique so far: Uses: (1) Iron Sight 3 Gun Setup, and (1) 1 o'clock Mount on SPR, (1) SBR Brightness: The adjustment is a broad enough scale that you can achieve most of what you desire, day or night. I have found myself searching for the dot on very sunny days, but have done the same thing with certain Aimpoints so until I have run it at several matches I'll leave it at that. I think if it was any brighter it would end up being quiet fuzzy and right now it isn't too horribly bad. Mounting: I have the QD, adjustable riser on most of my PA red dots, except my SPR mounted one. The QD mount is adjustable, exceptional quality for the price, and can be adjusted to be as snug as you want. I am actually fairly impressed by these risers so far, and now have a total of 4 PA red dots because of them. The tension screw mount is what it is. I am always cautious of tension screw mounts on budget optics, but I didn't feel like I was going to easily strip this one at all. Nothing really to be said about it accept that for now its doing its job and didn't seem to be like a complete POS to date. Zero: Both my SPR and SBR had the mount on, zeroed and then dismounted. Both waited patiently on my bench to be remounted so they weren't tossed around or anything, but both returned to zero. My micro dot on my SBR had about 1,000 rnds through it before being dismount and my SPR about 250. Not bitches here. The Iron Sight 3 gun setup mentioned under uses is a friend's gun. I hooked him up with an extra red dot that I got while on sale, and he shot the last 3 gun match with it. He echoed everything I have said here. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I can now tell you that it returned to zero for me when removed, shot, and remounted. When I mount it I push it forward towards the muzzle so it will not creep forward under repeated recoil. I do this when remounting as well and it returned to zero. FWIW. |

Question: I purchased the Micro Dot With Riser back in November. I really love the sight but I made a mistake.... I unscrewed the mount and the tiny springs inside the mount (like where it attaches to the picatinny rail) were lost. Is it possible to purchase replacements? I admit this is my fault, and certainly not a warranty issue.

Any of you guys running a Micro Dot on a shotgun? I just installed a rail on mine and my eyes fell on an MD I was going to put on my 10/22... I might have to use a Fastfire (size issue) but the MD might work. How has it held up?
I have two others and a 30mm and they've held up great on my 22s, plus two more Fastfires that haven't had issues, but I haven't tried either on a 12 gauge. |

I'm building up a new lightweight plinker 10/22, and I'm thinking a PA Micro is the way to go. I'm not sure which one yet, but one of the removable base versions.
I haven't had a PA Micro since the removable bases came out. Just to confirm, they will attach to any Aimpoint Micro base, right? Aimpoint makes one for direct mounting to the 10/22 receiver that I want to use - I'm trying to avoid stacking mounts, and this 10/22 won't have irons anyways. Thanks! |

Great optic, especially for the price. Is it just me or are power selections 1-3 on the red dot completely useless? lol It's a crisp, clear dot at 4 and up but in a pitch black room I see nothing from 1-3. I wouldn't set it lower than that anyway, just found it funny

Received mine yesterday from the 7/4 sale as well. Quick shipping as always from PA.
What's with the finish on the QD mount though? Does it double as a rough stone for sharpening blades? I don't own any other PA QD mounts, but all of your other accessory type products I own (scope rings, bases, etc) are all finished just as nicely as your optics. |

I have a question about the MD ADS vs the flip cap micro.
I currently own the flip cap micro and it's great but I really wish it had a little better field of view. That little ring inside, which I think houses the LED, makes it a little smaller than it could be. Is the field of view better on the new MD-ADS? I know the difference is probably negligible, especially when you are shooting both eyes open, but I guess I am just nit-picky. |
