Aluminum gi mags work fine. The bolt carrier needs to be clearanced a bit more on the bottom to clear P-mags, like the poster above demonstrated. But I also put the upper on an Anderson and a Rock River and I didn't notice dragging. I may have just gotten one that was ok, or it could be a lower issue. |

Just out of curiosity, I swapped my extra Jakl bolt catch into a Spikes Tactical lower to see if in my case anyway, the lower was the issue or the bottom of the bolt carrier.
The Spikes lower was even worse as far as the Pmag dragging on the bolt carrier and I couldn’t insert an empty Pmag on a closed bolt. So at least in my case the bolt carrier is suspect as it wouldn’t work with Pmags on 2 lowers (Spikes and a PSA Jakl). Or some combination of tolerance stacking (bolt, lower, magazine). It works fine with GI mags and Lancers, just not Pmags. Just a data point for those that may stumble across this issue. |

What size upper would you guys go with to put on a sbr lower? Really considering one of these to put on my lower

I'm going with 10.5" 5.56 and 8.5" 300BLK.

They work great, and now you have a lower you can swap between 9 or 556 or 300blk or...just swap the uppers. |

Is my gas block canted or something?
Attached File Attached File It seems like there's a good deal of drag with the bolt going fully into battery. I took the bolt out and put the bolt carrier in by itself and this is where it stopped before having to be pushed forward. Is this normal? It just seems like the gas piston head is contacting the inside edge of the gas block as it's going forward and then needs to be pushed all the way forward. Does everyone else's look/function this way? Does it just need to be broken in? I've put maybe 100 rounds through it so far. @PalmettoStateArmory |

One of the JAKL variants I want has a KeyMo adapter on it. Some variants of the JAKL w/ KeyMo say they don't support the Dead Air Nomad-30 while others don't mention it at all. I tried emailing PSA' customer service email to inquire about compatibility, but nobody ever got back to me.
Does anyone know for sure if the this JAKL variant is in fact compatible with the DA Nomad 30? https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-jakl-13-7-5-56-1-7-nitride-partial-picatinny-lower-hand-guard-moe-sl-ept-f5-stock-rifle-fde-black.html Once again, some of the KeyMo-compatible JAKLs say they're incompatible while other's make no mention of it. |

Can someone check to see if the gas selector detent is spring loaded? I had my jakl out today and the selector was tough to adjust and then super easy when I put some force on it.
It appears the detent isn't high enough to catch the notches on the selector now. |

View Quote Yes, it is. I didn't know this the first time I took the gas plug out and sent the detent into the abyss Luckily, it is a standard takedown/pivot pin detent. My gas plug rotates real easy but it's a positive "click" each time, so maybe take the plug out and shine a flashlight in there to make sure both the detent and spring are present? |
