I do understand your frustration and think they should REALLY do better with the descriptions. If you ordered a 4150 CMV barrel they advertised but recieved a 4140 barrel i would want the situation rectified, but it having a freedom rollmark wouldn't bother me. YMMV

Well, yes, I suppose I am whining a bit... but not without reason; or at least my perception of the correlation between what I ordered and what I received.
As far as whether or not the Freedom upper that came with my "PSA Rifle Kit" has the specs that were listed in the ad, I have absolutely no way of verifying that. I have to trust PSA 100% that the specs that were listed is what I actually received. For example, I have no way of knowing if my Freedom barrel is 4150CMV or just plain 4140; the ad barrel specs said it was CMV and the finish was Melonite (outside, inside or both?). All I can do is trust that what they say in the ad is correct. Here are the specs in the ad:
Barrel Length: 16"
Gas System: Mid-length
Barrel Profile: A2
Barrel Steel: Chrome-Moly Vanadium
Barrel Finish: Melonite
Chrome Lining: None
Muzzle Thread: 1/2-28
Chamber: 5.56 NATO
Twist Rate: 1:7
Barrel Extension: M4
Diameter at Gas Block: .750
Gas Block Type: F-marked Front Sight Base
Muzzle Device: A2 Flash Hider
It doesn't say whether or not it is 4150 or 4140 steel (some of the rifle kit and upper ad specs specify this and some don't); it says the barrel has a Melonite finish, but doesn't specify if it is Melonite treated both inside and out. I ordered a PSA Rifle Kit and got a Freedom Rifle Kit, although the word Freedom was never mentioned in the ad or specs. Both are good, but are they the same? Your guess is as good as mine.
I agree with the OP here... PSA needs to have a clearer, more specific upper/barrel quality scale/table/etc...
