View Quote id say ther were some updates, and problems fixed, but not many. Sure the new skin is nice, but the bones is the issue of the old site. Although ill count it as a win :) yes, the bones are the same with a new user interface and some upgraded features. All this new skin does is interact with the database, which for PSA is huge. In order to remove OOS or old items from the DB, they will have to go into it and change it, and that can be a daunting task, especially for a db the size of the one PSA uses. That db already changes on a daily basis to incorporate daily deals, specials, etc. The size is probably why daily deals are often available for multiple days, as it would be a 60-80hr/week job for a single person. Once the db is changed, the style sheets on the website might need an update as well to rid itself of its cache. So this new site is an upgrade from the previous, but like all websites, people like what they are used to. In the bigger context of it, PSA has been making a steady stream of upgrades to the web site for the past year (how many of you had to create a new account even though you had an old one?? ) Updates take time, hardware, and it always doesn't happen the first time. When I update one of the various websites I run, I check it on my main desktop, two laptops, a tablet, and my phone. why? Because it has to work with all of those, and they are all different. I probably sound like an apologist for PSA, but as someone who has been on the web side of business for a while (it is my side job/hobby), it is not as easy as godaddy or weebly make it seem. |

I don't mind the new mobile version at all. I don't know why everyone is complaining. Before you had to zoom out and zoom in and scroll all over and now everything is listed in a long list and you only have to scroll down. With the improved search function it's easier to make it a shorter list too.

I dunno the old website I had a Java Applet that tracked ID numbers during the panic sale for guns and I knew within 5 seconds what was in stock before it was even posted to the .html.... this website design is much better.

I just want the option to turn off the mobile site and view the desktop. Like I can at other sites like Cabelas (which chrome allows me to do this). DSG and Rainier arms i always wait till I get home to order cause their site sucks so bad on my phone (mobile site only and can't turn it off). Bottom line...... Mobile sites of online stores suck. What exactly makes people think that their website is a mobile version?

If it was a mobile site it would have an "m." in front of it. As Shooter said, this is just a part of the applet that reads and tailors itself to your phone. Given how phones change, and with the support for flash diminishing, this is the better way to do it.

I was on the desktop version yesterday and it was horrible. It looked like a blown up out of wack mobile site. Links ran together and hard to find. It is much better on the phones. Well for what that is worth.

Update Java on your desktop your browsers if you are seeing problems. View Quote There's no java used. It's all javascript and css. I didn't realize it was essentially the same site on mobile and desktop until just now. It is working perfectly in my opinion and shows up great on both. On desktop it has rows and colums and on mobile it only has rows so that you only have to scroll down. |

PSA could go back to the 1990s with an all frames website and the haters would cheer the loudest, although no one would hear the cheers coming out of the basement.....well, except your mom. |

The new web site sucks. Monochrome colors remind me of advertisements in a newspaper. Photos tend to look washed out and of poor quality.
Saving money on ink colors is a mistake. While the old site may have had issues with navigating the new one looks as if it was developed in the 90's. Terrible design. |

The new website matches customer service...Both suck. I place them dead even with Botach. PSA takes your money up front; you submit to various terms of sale; and maybe they'll come through. If not, they'll cancel your order w/o consent since backorder is not an option.
