contrary to popular belief i dont work there, and i am not exempt to having issues. I've had them before with PSA and i imagine i will again in the future. The sheer volume they do, lends itself to errors. I do agree that you may have to deal with issues if you want the deals.

I PM'd them 4 times over a month with no answer about an RMA. The day after I posted publicly, they responded. I still don't have the status of my RMA, though, and it's been 5 weeks since I sent it, 4 weeks since they received it. So maybe (sometimes) PM'ing them isn't the fastest way to get an answer.
I cannot answer as to why they do or dont do things. I can simply tell you, that when i , and anyone i know, have issues, PM is the fastest way we've ever been helped. The Customer Care team here seems to be top notch, from my experience. I'm sure that they will handle you MaddBruce, but going into other threads isnt usually recommended. Stay in your original complaint thread, and also wheres my order thread, and PM, they will help you and fix the issue.. it may take forever, adn it may not be fun, but theyve always made it right for me.
As for sometimes not being the fastest.. possibly. No one is perfect.
