Was it ever answered whether you could use the RRA 2 stage trigger in the PA10?

Do they just do this stuff to make it confusing, or what? i went into this knowing that there isn't a lot of standardization from company to company in terms of 308 AR's, and that it would be best to stick with PSA parts for as much of the build as i can, with that said PSA has left a lot of the leg work to us, which not a lot of people, me included are happy about. at this point most of the big items have been figured out, and its down to the smaller items, its just that its all scattered across multiple threads and posts |

Does S&W or dpms or any of the others put out a list of what works and does not work with another companies stuff? PSA said their stuff woks with their stuff, that's good enough for me.

I got the "Duh" response. The issue here, right from the beginning, is the total lack of support and information from PSA themselves. NOTHING on their Website. Even when some people have gotten support it's been wrong and actually caused equipment damage. Essentially they pat answer is, "To be sure any parts you install in or on a PA10 will work you need to buy PSA PA10 parts. If you don't there's no guarantee." Trouble is, it's a crap shoot when you talk to them about what parts are correct. |

WELL, IT DOESNT FIT A DPMS LR-308 A3 UPPER BECAUSE ITS TOO SHORT. WHEN COMPARED TO A REGULAR AR-15 CHARGING HANDLE, IT'S IDENTICAL. EITHER THEY RE-ENGINEERED THE PA-10 TO WORK WITH AN AR15 CHARGING HANDLE OR ONE OF THEIR PARTS PEOPLE MISLABELED THE BAGS ( IT WAS MARKED PA-10). Par for the course i guess. |

Are you shooting reloads or factory/military ammo? If reloads, I had this same thing happen on a couple of rounds, took them home and found that when I sized the cases I must have had the sizing die slightly out of line or the case not fully seated in the shell holder causing the brass to be deformed ever so slightly . I pulled the bullets dropped the brass in my case gauge and they hung up on the way in. Re sized and they dropped right in the gauge. One of those rounds I rapped pretty hard on the forward assist before trying to extract the round from the chamber and I like to never got it out. I had to take a 2X4 I found laying at the range and give the charging handle a smack to extract the round. The reason I figured it was a miss alignment was the brass had a nasty scuff on one side and not the other. It's SO easy when you get in a rush to not quite have the case all the way in the shell holder when you raise it into the die. I've done that a couple times with my 6.8 brass and once or twice with my 223 stuff when I'm not paying enough attention to what I'm doing. Are you using a heavier 308 buffer and a heavy 308 buffer spring? A lighter buffer or weak spring can also prevent rounds from having enough weight and force behind them to fully close to battery...especially in a 308 platform. Do you have a PSA 308 barrel in the build? One thing I have discovered. The chambers on these PA10 PSA barrels have minimal dimensions. My un-sized fired brass will drop right in my Dillon 308 case gauge just as if they were freshly sized. Why are these chambers tight compared to say that in a M1A or milspec 7.62 AR? Well, these chambers are 308 Winchester chambers and not the slightly larger 7.62X51 NATO chambers found on military spec gas guns like the M1A. With the less forgiving 308 Winchester chamber any flaw in the ammo size, brass shape or incomplete sizing (and it doesn't take much) will cause the rifle to FTF and that partially fed ammo will often get stuck fast in the chamber requiring aggressive measures to get it back out (like pounding on the charging handle with a 2X4 like I had to do) Note, a good way to test your rifle's proper function is to always start out running the rifle with factory loaded ammo. A decent choice is the Federal milspec M80 ammo PSA sells for as little as $11.99 for a box of 20. Your rifle should run flawlessly on that ammo...mine does. If it won't run reliably on that and you continue to have FTF issues with the upper I would contact PSA. If you contact them and you tell them you've been running reloads the first thing they will tell you is to test the rifle with commercial ammo to verify proper function. If you call them telling them it doesn't run reliably on commercial ammo they will probably be more convinced it's an upper problem and not an ammo problem. Nice rig BTW. |

They mentioned that a considerable break-in needed to occur before reliable feeding could be expected. When I got my upper, it would not lock into battery on an empty chamber by dropping the BCG into the upper under it's own weight. I manually cycled it an unknown amount of times, but it was at least an hour while watching TV. eventually it broke in and began to lock in by just gravity. By the time my lower arrived, the upper had clear wear marks from the manual cycling and locking. The end result was 100% feeding/firing at the range with live M80 ball. I wonder if the dude needs more break-in. |

View Quote What buffer tube length are you running and what buffer length? I ask because if you are running the buffer they supplied or read that you should and bought an AR15 H buffer along with a standard non-PSA PA10 Carbine tube, that combo won't work. They supply a longer AR15 H buffer now in their kits to work with the longer PA10 tube. If you run a standard length carbine tube you need to run a shorter DPMS style 308 buffer (3.7 - 4oz) and a 27 coil 11 1/2 - 11 3/4" 308 buffer spring. The later is what I'm running and it works perfectly. Good luck on getting a reply from PSA and you may have a long wait for the parts which they probably won't supply if you are not running their PA10 tube. |

Have you got the hammer cocked when you are trying to move the bolt catch? With the lower off the upper or pivoted the hammer will drag on the bolt catch if it's not cocked. Don't ask me how I know this . Mine actually fits loose in the slot like an AR15 bolt catch generally does. Not tight at all. Maybe yours has a burr or something? |

No offense taken, hammer's down. I continued to wiggle the bolt catch for maybe an hour and a half while watching tv last night. It loosened up enough that the spring could move the bolt catch on it's own. Still tight, and not like you've described at all. Hopefully it'll at least be functional despite.

I put them in and the firing pin strikes are just as heavy (and they are heavy BTW) as they were with the original springs. I put the whole kit in mine (hammer, trigger and disconnector springs) and it reduced the QMS trigger from 6.5#+ to right at 5#. Much, much better. I've shot factory ammo, my reloads and the Federal 149gr M80 LC mil spec ammo PSA sells for $12.99 a box through it. No failures to fire yet. Considering the heavy FP strikes I'm getting I don't expect I'll see any either. |

Any word on when there will be some FN CHF barrels available for these PA 10 rifles?

Anyone found an end plate QD sling mount that works? So far it seems like the buffer thread portion is too fat for most of the ar15 ones to work, since the QD hole gets partially blocked.

This might work:

Who makes psa pa-10 ss barrels anyways?

I actually have the one from the first link on an AR15. That one definitely won't work because of the middle QD connection doesn't leave enough clearance for the buffer tube. In fact even on the ar15, it got in the way when trying to tighten the castle nut down onto it.
I will try the one from the second link. I just hope its deep enough, since the space on the receiver is rather shallow. |

I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't like a lot of their barrels, FN.

Anybody know if the Odin Works XMR will work with the KNS pin set on the PA-10 platform?

I just read this whole thread... WOW!
Just ordered a stripped PA-10 lower yesterday to start a AR10 build. Going to just use one if their entire build kits. Hopefully they have them in stock still when I get my tax refund back. Am I safe to say that if I use all PSA parts (stripped lower+complete build kit= rifle with no issues) I'll be safe? *fingers crossed* |

What are you doing for an upper? Not all uppers will fit a PA10 lower. If you want to be completely sure, after you do the PA10 lower with all PSA parts, you need to finish the job and put a PA10 upper on it. Otherwise you better read the whole thread again to figure out what other upper will even fit, what parts work if you build an upper and whether it will function when you're done. It's a proprietary beast that uses proprietary parts so to be sure use PSA products. |

View Quote The XMR would best be described as a crap shoot unless someone can chime in that has used it on a PA10. Just make sure the place where you buy it has a good return policy. Most add on lower enhancements for bolt release or mag release seem to not be compatible on PA10 lowers. If you're talking the KNS trigger and hammer pins I see no reason to think they won't work since the PA10 uses the same pins and fire control groups (most) that an AR15 uses and the same size pins and spacing. |

Got my rifle all done a couple weeks ago minus the bolt catch. Ordered a DPMS bolt catch because the PA-10 bolt catch was out of stock on PSA's website.
Got it yesterday and wouldnt you know, it doesnt work. Now trying to decide what I wanna do. |
