And they are going bankrupt.............wonder why?
It kills me because I love the brand, but I can't stand their managers. I remember 5 years ago I spoke with a Colt manager about making what is now the Colt AR-15A4 20" military clone. They told me that no one would buy it and everyone was obsessed with 16" M4 clones.
Two years ago they made the rifle and can't keep it in stock.
I even asked about a Vietnam era clone since people from that ERA in the Military are getting their retirement checks and might want a clone (wouldn't be that hard at all).......Crickets from management.
I then talked to a 3rd manager over the past 7 years about their pythons, diamondbacks, Anaconda's and DS..........how their .22lr revolvers, .357 magnum Pythons and such were demanding $2,000 all the way up to the high $3,000 mark. They said they knew and they were watching it. Even said they were considering bringing back the Anaconda and Python. Crickets 2 years later.
Colt has done this to themselves. Sam Colt, John Browning and Eugene Stoner would be rolling over in their graves..........the brand is ICONIC. I will always love the brand and the logo. I can't stand their management. They hired, promoted and got the wrong people in place. SUCH A SHAME.
My heart goes out the line workers, not the management. I hope they will find jobs and that they will be okay.
Bottom line, I have talked to them for years and years.......I have had great guns, okay guns, and guns that would make you puke, they were so messed up. MY all time favorite was my Colt 1991 9mm with a blued/carbon steel frame that was complete and flawless.....but the slide was bar stock steel, no roll mark, no sights, no finish. I took photos at my gun dealer and sent them immediately so they knew I didn't do it. They gladly accepted it without any questions and gave made it right.
Someone will buy the Brand and LOGO..........it might never say Conn. on the gun. Hope whoever buys it does it justice and isn't the freedom group
