Sorry guys, trying to get pictures working correctly.. What am I doing wrong... Ugh!!
Thanks, do you know what I'm doing wrong.? Don't have any issues on my other forums..
I probably won't either just having a little buyers remorse.. Or thinking of selling number two and keeping one. To help recoup some of the money I spent but they are consecutive numbers also. Time will tell...

Colt started with serial no. 101 from what I'm told, awaiting Colt to call back to get a factory letter for confirmation.
The Colt 901's started with 101. The first 100 guns to ship from the factory all came with a factory letter. 113 was the second lowest serial number of the first 100 guns.
I know who has 106, it did not come with a factory letter nor did mine. Although they where not shipped out of the factory but taking out of the archive.
Thanks for clarifying 101 is the 1st , wasn't 100% sure there was a 100. 101 was shot a lot, maybe 100rds or so. They cleaned the bolt and put it away.. |
In this case 101 is the 1st production model, other than prototypes. That is how I understand what the Colt rep told me.

Mine is in the mid 100's and it did not come with a letter. Doesn't seem Colt goes by the numbers.

those are not the first two made
the first two are stamped 0001 and 2 or whatever. and I know the guy who has number 5. he works at colt and the serial numbers do not start at 100 |
Sorry but I'm told different! Is the number 5 a prototype? I am being told that 101 is the 1st production model. If colt wold ever answer the phone I might get answers or I get a letter in the mail to confirm.

Are there many of the 001 through 099 outside of employees? Do you think they were all produced? I have never seen a -100 number for sale any where. My curiosity is peaked! |

the colt employee in charge of the things told me this with his own mouth he has number 5 and other employees has the other first moedels and the serial numbers are not what you., or whoever is claiming. no matter how cool it would be, it aint so and no phone clerk at colt is going to give you any real answer |

Ok, this is BS.. The employee lied to you.. Prove it with 1 serial number under 100. If you can, I'll pay you 50 bucks!!!! I have 1 and 2 , the person I got them from is much bigger then employees.
In short, prove your claims...1 picture of a le901 with any serial number under 100.. Money talks and BS walks. |
ok 14er if you say so
correction for everyone else not a delusional 14er number was 10 not 5 my recollection was off |
Still no proof, I'm not delusional.
Has anyone every seen a number lower then mine.. NO.... Your guy at the factory may have 10 but it's 000110. |
Actually I have seen a serial number in the 70's either in a gun rag or on a website.
I saw I UFO one time .. Sorry picture to prove. I'm 100% sure I have 1 and 2 after today's phone call.
I know where serial number 1 colt match target post ban is for sale. If anyone is interested. $1600. |

Shawn, I am a man of my word and I assure you I'll pay you your bucks.. The deal is for a LE901 not any prototypes of the gun before they started production...I have a letter in the works and I will asure you that I have one and two.
I'd be interested in seeing the letter from Colt verifying that 101 and 102 are the first production 901's.
I'm not saying you're full of shit, I'm just saying I would like to see the verification from Colt Archives. |
i am very excited about this, time will provide the truth. Don't get me wrong, I had my doubts. Not after today..I was worried there might be a 000100.
Post ban Match target is availible serial no. 1 15-16 hundred.. No flash hider or bayonet lug. |
I hope that it's what you expect.
I never placed any monetary value on low serial numbers, or anything like that. I realize that some people do. To me, a firearm is a tool to perform a specific task. My 901 is #749. I wouldn't care if it was #1 or # eleventybillion , as (again, to me), it's just a tool, like a hammer or a miter saw. I DO have a Colt AR with serial number 040506. Easy to remember, I think it's neat just because I can remember it easily. Lol |
Hope you didn't pay any more than a new one. I have never gotten into the idea that rollmarks or serial numbers make them worth more. They certainly don't to me, I ain't selling my guns anyway and there are much better investments.
I have the 1st 2 made. That serial number was made a year after mine.. Made in 2013... Look at the box...
Shall we remind the OP of his own words.....'show me a serial number under 100...money talks, BS walks' and all that happy horseshit.
The gentleman above posted serial number 17. Ball is in your court, OP. |
No problem, I lost.. Colt told me I have the first 2 made. They told me the serial number from 000001 to 100 were made a year later.. Call for yourselves ask when mine was made then ask when 17 was made. I have a letter coming in 100 days that will prove my guns were made first.
What ever,,, Shawn send me your address I send you 50 bucks. BTW I paid 2 grand a piece for 101 and 102 |
I have owned my #17 since 2012. I assure you that they were made before yours. This is a fact. I can provide you with the ffl transfer form but I value my privacy.
Honestly I am sorry, I was being told concrete evidence I have the the first 2 made. I really don't understand, call colt yourselves and ask on both guns. Mine was made 1st before 17. Customer service can give you this info. Just give them my serial number and any other below mine..I don't get it.... Again Im sorry.
On the lighter side, $2000 apiece isn't bad. I bought my LE901 mid last year for $1900. I see them range from $1900-2200, so you're not going to get beat if you sell.
Distributors are currently selling 901's for less than they originally paid for them.
