This is a great thread.
I bought my SOCOM in June, and the most I have had time (and ammo) to do is make sure the 25 yard zero is good. I know, I know, someone will point out that a 25 yard zero is not what I really want to have. But, old Army habit are hard to kill, and my eyes being what they are, I zero at 25 yards.
The first scope I zeroed was a Nikon M223 1-4x scope, and it was very accurate, more accurate than I believed it could have been. I also zeroed a KAC Micro 200-600 rear sight and found it incredibly easy to do.
But, I decided I wanted to have an Aimpoint on it, so I bought a Pro from AZ Armament. I mounted the Aimpoint and adjusted things until the red dot sat at the top of the front sight when I looked through the rear sight. Weeks go by before I get back out to the range today. I fired a few rounds at a 25 yard target, and dang if it didn't a couple of clicks left and a few clicks up, and it was spot on.
I cannot wait until I have time to try 2, 3, and 400 yards. With 75 grain Hornady Steel Match ammo, it is exceptional so far.
This is slightly off the topic of the overall accuracy of the rifle, but my trigger is actually very good. It is much, much better than any other single stage military trigger I have ever tried. This rifle has me considering the possibility of selling one of my other rifles to buy another SOCOM or a 6940P.
