I clicked on your forum to ask the exact same thing OP did.
My .02?
Give us something FFP, with a Horus style reticle and a large, bold aiming point that also illuminates brightly. Think MK8 CQBSS. H27D. Zerostop style turrets. Make it mil/mil. Guys who hold-over won't care, and guys who are dialing dope want to do it in mils, along with a reticle that works in mils.
I personally hate BDC's. Even if your bullet and barrel match it flawlessly down in Florida, when you travel to do a shoot in Denver, you're missing 12" plates at 500 yards. To actually get a BDC to line up perfectly, accounting for spin-drift and all that jazz, you're looking at a lot of time adapting to it. With something like the H27D, you create your own holds, if you don't like to dial, or if you DO like to dial, it's great for ranging and allowing you to dial correctly. The other fly in the ointment is wind. Most BDC's do not HAVE wind holds, and in 5.56 (what most of your Razor HDII 1-6's are on...), wind is more of a bugger than drop in many cases. You need a reticle that allows wind and elevation holds or the ability to dial for them. Or dial for elevation and hold for wind, or... The ONLY ONE I HAVE SEEN that doesn't suck is the MK8 CQBSS with H27D. Yes, Horus reticles are money. Your BDC reticles sell fine? That's good. Make the Horus an option and adjust it for your cost. I'll still buy it, you'll cut the MK8 off at the knees for many others.
This will allow precision work, regardless of caliber or barrel-length. It will also allow lightning fast work up close.
Integrate a fin like the VCOG or Kahles K16i/K15i onto the magnification ring. Not only will this save a buck for a throw-lever...it's stronger and sexier, too!
Add a locking diopter. Diopter adjustment shifts zero. You wouldn't have exposed turrets that also did not lock, would you?
Make it 1-6 or 1-8. Doesn't matter. If you come in at $2K or under, and 19oz or under, and similar physical size to the Razor HDII, it's going to sell, and it's going to sell to Uncle Sugar, and to civilians, and to SWAT teams, and to 3 gunners, and to simple hobbyists who want to spend the money to have good gear.
You have established yourself as a great optics company with great products and a great warranty, and your reputation gives you the "right" to price a 1-6 in Kahles and Leupold and Steiner military territory. I think you could do very well in that arena, if you fix the reticles (noone really offers any good reticles in 1-6, in my opinion, although some are better than others), and fix the weight (25oz isn't competitive, the Razor HDII is just optically very good, and cheap, so people stomach the weight and make backslapping jokes about "I'll just do more pushups".)
There, that is my .02, for once someone DID ask for it, and if you do it, I'll buy the first one that I can.
