First off, I love the scope. It's VERY clear, the turrets are awesome, and the features are impossible to beat for the price.
Second, when I got my first one in early October and voiced a concern Vortex took care of me quickly and professionally and offered to have a look at it. They paid shipping both ways and I got the replacement today, no complaints about the company or the service. I've owned numerous Vortex products and have never been any less than 100% pleased.
My problem is that the first scope had several small specs in two of the quadrants that glow red (like the reticle) when the illumination is turned on. It is more visible the darker the ambient conditions and the higher the illumination setting. I've never seen such a thing and I've owned several illuminated reticle scopes. I've also owned two Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP scopes and never saw this. The replacement I received today has the same problem, only worse... the specs are bigger and more noticeable. For others with this one of these, is this normal for FFP scopes or what? I don't want to just keep sending scopes back since it's a waste of their shipping $$ and my time. I am trying to decide if I should just mount it and shoot it anyway or what to do, I just don't want to do that only to have to re-zero after the specs drive me nuts.
