Have an early 7.62 OBR.
Double feeding with my Specwar. New round tries to feed up under spent case.
Happens with factory (ZQI and FGMM) as well as my 175g handloads (Sierra MatchKing, 43.0 Varget, Lapua brass: the 43.0 exceeds max in Sierra book (42.7 as I recall) but Hogdon lists 42.0 as start and 45.0 max. I worked it up and no pressure signs).
Spoke few times with guys at LaRue, who think it is overgassed as the gas selector designed around the Surefire suppressor and I need to slow down the carrier.
Put in Springco Orange spring and H2 buffer, no help. Put is H3 buffer with Orange spring, still double feeds every 2-3 shots but brass is not mangled as badly as it had been (prior to the H3 the jammed rounds were bent too much to chamber them).
It does lock back on empty mag 100%.
John at LaRue wants me to test unsuppressed with stock spring/buffer to make sure it isn't a rifle issue (and I'll try that next chance I get). Don't recall any issues before I got the suppressor. Plan is to pretty much run it suppressed 100% of the time....
20" barrel.
Originally had rifle length sping/buffer, LaRue sent me the carbine springs (red/orange), spacer and H2 buffer.
Before that I put new extractor springs (I thought not extracting, but John thought carrier just moving too fast). Mine was an early OBR with single spring and I replaced with the new dual spring.
LaRue magazines (I have two and it happens with both. Have some pMags but haven't tried them lately, but they jammed also earlier).
Gas selector is to the right, suppressed position.
John mentioned trying a super heavy buffer (
but they are $75-125). I would think I'd try to replace the gas block with something like a Govnah....
Anyone using a Specwar 7.62 on an OBR and have any tips for me???
