serious question, what's the advantage of the 22" over the 18"?

Keep in mind most 260 data out there comes from bolt guns with 24" or longer barrels |

Won't argue that I guess the point I was really getting at is most reloading data is from a 24" bolt action... hornady and nosler both use the 24 in their book
That being said it's going to be tough to find velocity differences between an 18 and 22 gas rifle because of the rarity of them |

Oh, and that rifle needs MOAR .260 ^ ^ ^ ^ ^
I am really eager to see the 22" .260 barrels released, but I am curious... which .260 load/bullet weight/manufacturer is recommended for the .260 PredatOBR? |

The GAPs and APeg grip were spray painted Aervoe Coyote Brown (Federal Tan 498). The Lower, upper, handguard, port cover, phase 5 lever, and bipod are cerakoted Federal Field Drab. The scope has Schmidt & Bender's factory RAL8000 finish -- pretty sure that's cerakote too. The only spots where you can really see signs of wear is where there is metal-on-metal contact, like the take down lug, case deflector, or magazine well. Also, I had my applicator mask off the inside of the upper, so the BCG rides on the original factory finish on the interior, and the barrel extension and barrel nut don't rub against cerakote. |

H4350. It seems to be what a lot of people are using with good results. I've never loaded 260 Rem so am starting from scratch. I bought some Lapua 260 Brass to start out with. Maybe later I'll form my own from 308 brass since I have tons of it. I'm not sure which projectiles I want to try yet. My goal is to get something that can go past 1000 if possible. I'm thinking maybe the 139 Scenars.
Anyone here make 260 from 308 brass? I'm kind of lazy when it comes to by tOBR. For 308 I've been using pre prepped once fired Lake City brass and have gotten consistent sub MOA performance using them. I tend to lose brass a lot from the gas gun so haven't bothered with Lapua or anything like that. For now I'll be using a brass catcher to reclaim the Lapua 260s but I don't like using it because sometimes it causes shells to hang up. I'd rather make my own from 308 brass and just accept losing a percentage of them. |

I also ordered some H4350 it's backordered from Cabela's but the price was great and I wont be ready to reload till at least next year so I got plenty of time to wait. I'm also looking at converting brass but need to do more research.

I suggest also looking at 8208xbr and ar-comp. Both should be more temp stable than h4850. My 308 tOBR lives ar-comp. Almost every load with every bullet I have tried was sub moa.

They shoot well from mag length and they perform excellent. I have only taken them out to 600 yds but have been able to achieve .6 moa at 600. The ballistics has it supersonic past 1,200 yds. In anticipation of a sparrel, I finally ordered 400 Lapua brass. They are ex$pensive! I am going to also order some Winchester brass in 7mm-08 and just one step neck them down to 260. I already have plenty of primers, need to get some slower powder. Going to try the 140 Berger Hybrids. Where did you get your brass from? |
